Easter Egg Rice Krispy Treats
Woo hoo-we’ve officially made it to Wednesday! I hope you all are having a wonderful week so far and that you have made some amazing plans for the holiday weekend. Today I’m sharing one of my personal favorite treats, Rice Krispies. Whether you’re planning a large family gathering or a low-key meal, these treats should definitely be on your list of things to make!
Rice Krispy Treats are one of the easiest desserts out there, yet they are oh so delicious! I love making these when we have guests because they are super easy to make, yet they satisfy almost anyone’s taste buds. These in particular are gorgeous with the addition of the spring colored sprinkles and are sure to please adults and children alike.
- 6 Cups Rice Krispies Cereal
- 1/4 c. butter
- 7 oz. marshmallow cream or 1 bag of miniature marshmallows
- Spring pastel colored sprinkles
Step 1: Melt butter in saucepan. Add marshmallow creme and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until marshmallow cream and butter are well blended.
Step 2: Remove from heat and add Rice Krispies one cup at a time until all cereal has been incorporated.
Step 3: On a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, lightly spread out rice krispy mixture until entire sheet is covered.
Step 4: Let mixture cool for 10-15 minutes. Using egg shaped cookie cutter begin cutting rice krispies. A good tip for getting the mixture to form better into the egg shape is to lightly press down with the back of the spoon before releasing the “egg”.
Step 5: Serve on platter and enjoy! Any leftovers can be stored in an air-tight container for up to a week.
Also, in case you were wondering I created this beautiful floral arrangement for the table using supplies from the amazing Dollar Tree! Aren’t the flowers and pastel eggs gorgeous?!?
I won’t be back on the blog until next Monday, so I wanted to wish all of you an amazing Easter weekend with your families as we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ!
My husband and I thankfully both have a long weekend off and are planning a fun picnic at the park on Saturday, a dinner with the family on Sunday after church, and an Easter egg hunt for the kiddos, so we’re definitely excited! 🙂
What fun plans do you have made?
Thanks for stopping by!-Cara
