Hey all! Graduation season is officially upon us and while my sweet munchkins aren’t anywhere close to graduating high school yet (thank heavens!), my oldest son is graduating from primary school this year! He’s so incredibly smart and I’m so proud of him for making all A’s, excelling in the school’s accelerated reader program, and for always getting great reports from his teachers. He’s just a great kid all-around and it makes me happy knowing that he truly loves school and is excited to learn.
Regardless of whether it’s high school or kindergarten graduation, it’s always an event worth celebrating in my book and such an accomplishment. Plus, ya’ll already know I’m all about celebrating the small wins, so in honor of graduation season I created these adorable Graduation Cap Mason Jars that will be the perfect gift for all the 2017 graduates. These Graduation Cap Mason Jars are so easy to make and can be personalized to create the most special gift.
DIY Graduation Cap Mason Jars
Supplies Needed: Small Mason Jars, Black Foam Sheet, Black Ribbon, Small Chalkboard Labels, Hot Glue Gun/Glue, Clear Tape, Red Thread
Step 1: Apply ribbon with hot glue to cover the rim of the jar. Secure at the end with more glue and cut away excess.
Step 2: Cut black foam sheet into small squares that will create the cap top. Apply hot glue on top of the jar lid and press firmly to secure.
Step 3: Create a tassle using the red thread by gathering several threads together and tying off the top with a long piece of thread. For added security I tied this off twice.
Step 4: Using the excess thread that you tied the top with, form a small circle on top of the jar and secure with glue. Place a black foam circle on top and glue in place to create the button.
Step 5: Decorate the jars as desired with chalkboard labels and fill with candy, money, or other special goodies for your graduate!
