Chocolate Chip Brookies

Course Dessert


Cookie Dough:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cup self-rising flour
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips


  • 18 oz boxed brownie mix prepared as directed


  1. Combine softened, unsalted butter with light brown sugar, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
  2. Slowly begin adding flour to mixture 1/2 cup at a time until well incorporated.
  3. Stir in chocolate chips and set cookie dough aside.
  4. Prepare boxed brownie mix according to package directions.
  5. Pour brownie batter into greased 9x13 cake pan.
  6. Using an ice cream scoop, add cookie dough to brownie mixture.
  7. Using a spatula, carefully flatten cookie dough and begin lightly swirling cookie dough with a knife for a marbled effect.
  8. Bake in oven at 325 for 45-50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let cool for 30 minutes before cutting and enjoy! If desired, serve with vanilla ice cream and drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce.
