Learn how to make my Easy Homemade Sloppy Joe Sandwiches with simple, real ingredients in just 20 minutes time. These easy sloppy joes can be made with ground beef or ground turkey, and are cheesy and delicious with a homemade tomato sauce.ย

  • In a small mixing bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper, and mix together until evenly combined.
  • In a separate bowl add tomato sauce, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard and whisk until evenly combined.
  • Next, use a box grater and shred 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked and no pink remains. Drain away excess fat.
  • Add meat back to pan, add in seasonings and sauce, and stir until evenly coated. Add shredded cheddar cheese and stir until combined. Remove from heat.
  • Serve on buns with desired toppings and enjoy!

Notes

How to Store Sloppy Joes

To Store: Place leftover sloppy joe meat in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4 days.

To Freeze: Let the mixture cool completely, then place in a freezer safe bag or container and freeze for up to 3 months.

 

How to Reheat Sloppy Joes

From Fridge: Place mixture in the microwave and heat until warm or re-heat on stovetop on low/medium. If needed, you can add a little bit of water to the mixture.

From Frozen: Thaw in fridge and reheat in the microwave or on stovetop as directed above.
