Avon Glimmershadow Liquid Eyeshadow Review

A couple weeks back Avon sent over some of their newest makeup products for Fall and their Glimmershadow Liquid Eyeshadows were something that immediately caught my eye!

Glitter and shimmer liquid eyeshadows have really became a popular launch item over the last couple years amongst affordable beauty and drugstore makeup brands, in an effort to compete with the ever-popular Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadows.

The Stila eyeshadows are super pretty but at $24 a pop they can quickly get expensive, so when I saw that the Avon liquid eyeshadows were under $10 each, I was super excited to see how they compared. Today I’m sharing a complete review of the Avon liquid eyeshadow collection and swatches of all 8 shades.

Avon Liquid Eyeshadow Review

The Avon Glimmershadow Liquid Eyeshadows comes with in two eye-catching finishes including glitter and shimmer and comes in 8 gorgeous shades. These eyeshadows are water-resistant and paraben and sulfate free.

The glitter finish has a noticeable sparkle while the shimmer is a more subtle sheen (I’d recommend those if glitter isn’t your thing). These liquid eyeshadows are highly pigmented and can be applied in layers for a more intense look or blended out for a softer look.

This product claims to be a “stay-put, no-smudge, no-crease, buildable shimmer, that goes from glam to glam rock”, and I must say that I do feel that the claims hold true. I found these avon liquid eyeshadows to have a beautiful shimmer to them and they definitely stay-put all day. In fact, that’s probably the one thing I would really point out about this product – you definitely have to use a good makeup cleanser and makeup remover wipes to get the product off after it dries down on the eyelids.

The application is pretty easy with these and I prefer using the wand to apply in the desired area and then blending out with my fingers. I recommend using a good eyeshadow primer like this one with the glitter liquid eyeshadows especially. This will help keep the product in place and lessen fall-out (although fall-out is unfortunately pretty common with all glitter liquid eyeshadows).

Of the two finishes, I ended up liking the shimmer finish better than the glitter ones just because I found them easier to work with.
