The Best Essential Baking Tools
What are the most important baking tools?
With so many baking tools on the market, it can sometimes be confusing to know which products are actually necessary and must-haves for an at home baker, versus things that will just collect dust and be a waste of money.
Because I’ve purchased/owned my fair share of products that I didn’t even need and don’t use, I wanted to narrow down a list of only the essential baking tools to make it super easy for all my baking beginners!
If I REALLY had to narrow it down and pick the Top 5 Essential Baking Tools, it would be:
- electric hand mixer (because it makes life easier)
- microwave safe mixing bowls (I use these FOR EVERYTHING)
- measuring cups/spoons (because accurate measuring is SUPER important in baking)
- large baking sheets (I use these pans ALL the time for baking cookies, pizza, veggies, bread, French fries etc.)
- glass baking dishes (If I’m not using cookie sheets, I’m using these dishes for making cakes, dessert bars, brownies, casseroles, chicken, and so much more)
What Every Home Baker Needs
In addition to the list of 30 Essential Baking Tools that’s included below, there are a couple other important items every home baker needs in their kitchen.
This includes:
- Oven Mitts – Protect your hands and grab you a great pair of oven mitts like these. They’re super affordable and are a total life-saver in the kitchen.
- Apron – No matter how neat you might be, messes happen when you’re baking. I love using this cute apron whenever I’m baking to keep my clothes mess and stain-free.
- Tea Towels – A good set of tea towels is another must-have in the kitchen. Not only are they great for washing/drying your hands, but these tea towels can also be used for proofing dough and can help keep baked goods warmer/fresher longer.

A good set of mixing bowls will last you for years and years.
I’ve personally owned this amazing set of microwave safe mixing bowls for 10+ years now and they’re still just as good as when I first bought them.
I also really love this stainless steel mixing bowl set with non-skid bottoms.
Measuring Cups/Spoons
As a baker, I couldn’t live without measuring cups and magnetic measuring spoons.
They both stack up neatly in my drawers and take up very little space, and they’re a total lifesaver when it comes to measuring out ingredients properly.
In addition to the ones above, I also HIGHLY recommend this glass measuring cup.
It allows you to easily pour in liquid ingredients and larger quantities and is also microwave-safe for easily melting things like chocolate and butter.
