Check out my monthly chit-chat + confessions post full of random thoughts, humor, and real-life talk!

Chit Chat + Confessions

Hey y’all! Happy Wednesday! Back in my early days of blogging I used to do weekly confessions with Life By Nadine Lynn and they were SO much fun. There’s been a lot on my mind lately so today I’m compiling all my random thoughts in a fun little Chit Chat + Confessions post.

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

Chit Chat + Confessions

  • I’m beyond thrilled spring is finally here and the weather is starting to warm up again. It’s always nice to be able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and my hubs and I are currently working on several backyard projects.
  • My boys finally learned how to ride their bikes without training wheels so my husband and I purchased new bikes for us the other day and we’ve been having a blast riding around the neighborhood together. It was kind of hilarious the first time I got on it though because it quite literally had been 12-15 years since I had rode a bike and I was so worried I’d have to re-learn. I’m happy to report it came right back to me! 😉
  • Why do the ankles on skinny jeans have to be SO tight? I tried on a pair in the dressing room at Old Navy the other day and spent nearly 5 minutes trying to get them back off. The jeans fit perfect, just the flipping ankle area was ridiculously tight. I just don’t understand it.
  • Like most bloggers out there, I’m 110% over Instagram. I’ve pretty much been avoiding the app lately altogether and I honestly keep hoping it will eventually go away lol. The app just isn’t fun like it used to be with an ever-changing algorithm that makes it impossible to reach people and there’s just so much fakeness and shadiness that goes on behind the scenes. It’s honestly despicable to watch and disheartening for those of us who don’t take part in it. My good friend Lindsay laid it all out in this post on The Instagram Scam, and I couldn’t agree with her thoughts on it more!
  • Speaking of IG – how in the heck do some of these fashion bloggers have any money left with as many Amazon/Target try-on hauls they do weekly? I’m not talking about sponsored hauls when companies send them free clothes, I’m talking about try-on hauls they’ve bought with their own money. I’m a fashion lover too, but it seems a bit excessive at times.
  • When the FB/IG shutdown happened I hopped back on Twitter and I’ve been loving the amazing community on there! So much more realness compared to other platforms and it’s truly a breath of fresh air. Follow me here if you aren’t already and I’ll follow you back! 🙂
  • I’m starting to think my tastebuds are changing and it’s been totally freaking me out lately. All of the sudden I’m loving the taste of things I’ve never liked my entire life like mushrooms and jelly. I even took a sip of my husband’s sweet tea the other day and it didn’t totally repulse me- what is life?!

I LOVE these old school posts, my absolute favorite. I’m so with you on the whole instagram thing (as we’ve discussed) – twitter is definitely where it’s at! So much more fun and less pressure. I’m dying at that last Spongebob funny, it’s me 100% these days.

YAY for spring! And girllll I’m beyond over Instagram, and have been hovering around only 2k followers (which is unheard of for someone who’s been blogging for several years) for a long time because I refuse to buy followers or play the follow/unfollow game. I still love Twitter, especially now that they brought back the chronological feed feature!

I feel you girl! It really is frustrating for those of us who try to grow authentically, but at the end of the day I have to remind myself it’s just an app and I’m gonna try to make the best of it and not worry about the things I can’t control. Hope you have an awesome weekend! 🙂

Those funnies are cracking me up! YES to the warm weather and sunshine…it has been SO nice to get outside and do fun things, I am so happy about it! I am with you on Instagram. I decided I’m going to share what I want when I want and not worry about likes or numbers or if it goes with the last picture posted. I don’t think I’ll ever have 50, 000 followers and that is OKAY! Twitter always makes me feel better, seems like people really say what they’re thinking and I 1000% enjoy that. Hope you have a great rest of your week!

Spring time is always my favorite season because I really enjoy getting outside more. And yep, I’m doing the same thing. I’ve spent enough time moping/complaining about IG and now I’m choosing to put it into my own hands again. I refuse to let an app dictate my happiness so I’ve started weeding out accounts that don’t bring me joy and am focusing on posting what I want and engaging with my fave people (like you!) And twitter is the best. I feel like I can always be my true self over there lol. Have a great week! 🙂

    Cara,

Girl! I love this post so much!

It reminds me of when I started blogging simply out of my love of blogging. Before everything had to be picture perfect. Speaking of, Instagram has been my least favorite app lately. I’ve taken a huge step back from it lately and it’s been great!

Can’t wait to see more posts like this from you!

Yes! I feel like we need more realness/fun in blogging and on Instagram again, so I’ll definitely be posting these more often. Thanks so much for your support, girly! 🙂

I still love Instagram because I don’t care about likes or reach and I use the unfollow feature liberally LOL.

I am convinced many people use the Amazon Prime Wardrobe option where you can try something for seven days for free and return it.

Love that you’re all bike riding together! I got a bike in 2015 after not riding one for a million years. I was afraid I’d have to relearn too but it’s been awesome!

Yes, I’ve been slowing starting to weed out the people I’m following, and I’m hoping that will help renew some of my liking of the app. And great point- because if they seriously bought all the items they try-on I think their wallet would be in trouble lol. Bike riding is SO fun – nothing like feeling the wind in your hair! Happy Wednesday! 🙂
