Black and White Polka Dot Nails Tutorial
Black and White Polka Dot Nails Tutorial
Today I’m really excited to share a simple and fun nail tutorial with you all. Today we’re going to be creating Black and White Polka Dot Nails, and they’re seriously so adorable and easy to create.
I’ve already mentioned once or twice my obsession with nail polish, but today I thought I’d share with you a little secret of mine when creating nail designs. I use the tip of a bobby-pin! A friend of mine told me about it a couple of years ago, and I thought wow what a clever idea, and it seriously works so well!
You can actually use a bobby pin to create polka dots, lines, and hearts, and it works just as well as all those expensive little nail art pens you can buy. And I mean who doesn’t seriously have about 87,000 bobby pins lying around. I know I do! 😉
Black and White Polka Dot Nails Tutorial
Step 1: Start by gathering all your supplies to create your black and white nails. You’ll need black nail polish, white nail polish, and a bobby pin. I’m using wet n wild Wildshine Nail Colors.
Step 2: Carefully paint nails with a white base coat.
Add 2-3 coats as needed
Step 3: Tilt black nail polish to the side and gently dip the tip of a bobby pin in product. Begin applying black dots to the nail in various sizes. *Pro tip- If you mess up on any of the dots, use a damp q-tip to remove any excess product.
And that’s it, ya’ll! Such an easy nail DIY that you could switch up with a variety of colors, sizes, and designs. I love these b lack and white nails but I also use this same nail design technique to create so many different pretty nail looks.

Hope you enjoyed today’s Black and White Polka Dot Nails Tutorial and I hope you’ll give this nail design a try!

That’s so cute! It always looks like my 3 year old did my nails-I’m terrible- but even I could (probably) do this.
Thank-you! You definitely could, it’s not hard I promise!
They are so cute! A great option for to use instead of jamberry. Seem simple enough that maybe I could actually do this! Thanks for sharing!
Thank-you! It’s so simple!

Thanks Kate!
Your black and white nails are so cute!!!! I ordered some nail art tools on Amazon for like $3 and they came from China so they took like a month but I dont care because it was worth it. But who knew you could just use a bobby pin…that was genius!
Thank-you! 🙂
You ought to get with mommy and let her let you paint her nails. If she would. Love you Daddy.
I would if she would let me. 🙂
I love polka dot nails! I was going to do them a few weeks ago but was pressed for time. I need to remember to think about it again!
Polka dots are a cute way to dress up your nails! 🙂
I adore this for spring!! It seems pretty easy too 🙂 Have a great weekend!

super cute! I’m always so envious of people who do nails well. I’m horrible at them, but it won’t stop me from trying haha . thanks for this!
Thanks! Oh my goodness, I’ve saw some really intricate ones before with like tiny teddy bears, and they are so cute. Not sure if I could recreate it myself-haha But polka dots aren’t hard, you should try it! 🙂
So cute! I love nail art. And that white polish looks opaque and not streaky list most are.
Thank-you, I do too! It’s actually really good quality, and for 99 cents I was impressed 🙂
SUPER cute! Love all your how-to posts!
Thank-you! 🙂
OMG these are adorable, and even I think that I can do it (on my left hand lol). Polka dots always make me think of spring. Maybe I will do this on my girls this weekend. Thanks for the idea
Thank-you! I went with a neutral look with black and white, but I bet this would look so pretty with all different colors for spring! 🙂
Cute nails! I hope your weekend is fantastic!
Thank-you! Yours too 🙂
Lovely nails! I’ve heard of the bobby pin idea but haven’t tried it yet. They are so cute though!
Thank-you! It really is easy, you should try it 🙂
Super cute! A bobby pin is a great idea. I actually bought one of those little tools to use & its REALLY BIG – I dont like the dots – you cant get but like 2 on your nails with it.
Thanks! I’ve heard of people using tooth-picks too, but have never tried it. I like the nail pens you can buy, but they can be pricey, and I figure this is a much cheaper, easy alternative.
I love this! I’ve been meaning to paint my nails for like, three months now. It’s soo hard haha
Thanks! I get like that sometimes too, I won’t paint them for awhile, but I’ve been on a nail-painting kick recently 🙂
So easy and Super Cute!!!! Have glorious weekend gorgeous gal!! 😉
Thank-you! 🙂
Essie is my favorite brand! I am starting getting too the whole painting my nails trend. This is definitely easy but doable!
I love painting my nails! Essie is a great brand 🙂
Adorable! I’m the worst at painting my nails. I get nail polish EVERYWHERE lol. But I bet I could do this one!
Thank-you! It’s not hard at all 🙂
Oh my goodness girl, these are so cute! Definitely trying!
Thank-you! It’s so simple!
