Ready or not, the cold weather season is quickly approaching us. Although I love the fall and winter months for many reasons, one thing I’m not a fan of is dry skin caused by the colder weather. The shock of cooler weather can wreak havoc on your skin, hair, and lips, and I for one am not a fan of the dry/cracked skin look. What’s a girl to do, you ask? Create a Winter Beauty Survival Kit, of course!

The most important beauty item to have in the cold winter months is of course an awesome moisturizer! My favorite at the moment is the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Refreshing Coconut Oil, which I recently purchased at my local Walmart. Ya’ll already know my love for coconut oil and double-duty beauty items, and this Jergens product makes moisturizing a breeze.

Simply apply it on wet skin immediately after showering for an all day softness and a heavenly scent. This Jergens moisturizer is lightweight, fast-absorbing, and doesn’t leave that unwanted sticky feeling on the skin, which I think we all can appreciate.

If coconut isn’t your thing, no worries. Jergens has four other amazing scents to choose from including Calming Green Tea Oil, Nourishing Monoi Oil, Restoring Argan Oil, and Cherry Almond Essence which is a new exclusive at Walmart. (The Cherry Almond smells amazing!)

In addition to moisturizing, it’s also super important to exfoliate the skin in the colder months, which is why my next winter beauty survival item is a good body scrub! My personal favorite scrub is made with brown sugar and it does such a great job of getting rid of that dry, flaky skin that’s not cute when you want to wear a dress. Using exfoliating gloves, I always apply a nickel sized product to my legs and work it in a circular motion to really get the smoothest skin possible before shaving.

Other must-have items for my Winter Beauty Survival Kit include a moisturizing lip balm to help prevent chapped lips and a leave-in hair conditioner to help fight off the winter frizz. I also added in a razor, a soft pair of gloves, a warm and cozy scarf, and a pouch of hot cocoa mix, because who doesn’t love cocoa on a cold winter day? And of course I had to have something to put all my winter beauty survival items, so I picked up this adorable metal bucket with chalkboard front from Walmart too.

This kit would make a great gift for the holiday season or would be a nice pamper yourself present for an at-home spa day. Most importantly, all of the items in this gift will help combat unwanted dry skin, lackluster locks, and chapped lips, and will leave you feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. And in case you want to create your own Winter Beauty Survival Kit, I’ve created a free printable shopping list below for you to use, along with 3 helpful winter skincare tips!

    1. I’ve been using this all week and it’s awesome how fast it dries! That’s one of the reasons I hate using regular lotion is because it feels like it takes forever for it to all soak in, but this is already dried before I’m even dressed. 🙂
