5 Tips to Get Glowing Skin in The Winter
Winter is just around the corner, which means it’s time to ensure your skin routine is fully in check! Today I’m super excited to be partnering with wet n wild to share 5 Tips to Get Glowing Skin in The Winter.
In today’s post I’m sharing the skincare tips I always use each year to ensure my skin looks moisturized and healthy all winter long, plus I’m sharing my new makeup secret weapon from wet n wild to get beautiful glowing skin!
5 Tips to Get Glowing Skin in The Winter
Protect Your Skin
The cooler fall and winter months can definitely take its toll on our skin, which is why it’s super important to protect it. Scarves, gloves, beanies, and of course jackets are always a good idea on super chilly days when the cold air can zap all the moisture out of your skin.
It’s also important to remember to wear SPF on sunny days (even in the winter months) to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
Switch Out Your Cleansers
It’s especially important to be mindful of what cleansers you’re using in the colder months to ensure you’re not adding to the dryness.
Depending on what type of cleansers or soaps you use to wash your face and body, you could be stripping your skin of natural oils that your skin needs in order to stay hydrated.
I recommend using an oil based cleanser for the face that helps eliminate dirt and oil, but doesn’t strip the skin of your natural oils. I also really love using wet skin moisturizers for the body.
Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize
Speaking of moisturizing, you really can’t moisturize enough in the winter months, and I recommend moisturizing at least 2X daily. One tip I always love sharing is to make sure you are moisturizing right after washing your face and when you first get out of the shower.
If you have a hard time remembering to moisturize your face, set the bottle or jar right near your toothbrush or contacts so that you’ll remember to apply it when getting ready in the morning and before going to bed.
It’s also a good idea on the weekends to add in overnight moisturizing to your routine. I love wearing nightly masks in the winter time especially.
Stay Hydrated & Drink More Water
With yummy drinks like hot cocoa, flavored coffee, and herbal teas, it can be easy to fall off the wagon when it comes to drinking more water in the winter months, but it’s SO important in keeping the skin hydrated.
Not only will adding more water to your daily routine help prevent dryness, but it also has tons of other health benefits, making it a total win-win.
Add Some Shimmer to The Skin
Last but not least, don’t be afraid to add some shimmer to the skin in the winter months. Just because it isn’t summer doesn’t mean your skin doesn’t deserve to look glowing and gorgeous. I recently started using the the wet n wild MegaGlo Body Luminizer in Heart of RoseGold and absolutely love how it looks on the skin!
If you’ve been following me for awhile now, you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of wet n wild and have been using their makeup products since I first started wearing makeup as a teenager. I’ve always been so impressed with the quality and affordable prices, and the MegaGlo Body Luminizer is no exception!
Although the MegaGlo Body Luminizer is great for wearing in the warm summer months while you’re tan, it’s also great to apply to the skin in the winter months for a perfect touch of shimmer for holiday parties.
It contains a lightweight, buildable formula to give the skin a luminous look, and has nourishing ingredients like argan, macadamia, passionfruit seed, grapefruit seed, and sunflower seed oils. As with all wet n wild products, it’s cruelty-free and all shades are gluten-free, and paraben free.
The MegaGlo Body Luminizer can be applied to both the face and body and it adds a gorgeous highlight to give you a natural-looking glow.
You can find the MegaGlo Body Luminizer in three gorgeous shades including Heart of Rosegold, Gold Rush, and Invested in Bronze. Find it in the makeup aisle at Walmart or online here at an affordable price of less than $10!
How to Apply the MegaGlow Body Luminizer for Glowing Winter Skin
- Shake bottle well
- Dab a small amount of product to the top of the cheekbones, brow bones, and bridge of the nose using the wet n wild foundation brush.
- Lightly blend upwards in a small circular motion until well blended
- Apply a small amount to the collar bone, décolletage, shoulders, and/or arms and legs, if desired. Blend in using circular motions

That body luminizer looks amazing! Do you have any recs on a good moisturizer??
Thanks girl! I love Patchology Aqua flash moisturizer and at the drugstore I love the Clean and Clear Gel Moisturizer. Both are super hydrating.
You look beautiful! I’m definitely going to pick up that luminizer. My skin has been so dry lately, so I appreciate all the skin care tips – I might need to switch over to a more hydrating cleanser that can still combat my stupid hormonal breakouts!
Thank you so much! I think you’d really like the rose gold luminizer- it’s super pretty and adds a nice natural looking glow.
Ahh that Wet N Wild body luminizer is so pretty! I love products like that! We don’t have winter here (summer 24/7!) here in Malaysia, but these are such great tips! I thought I usually moisturise enough, until I visited a country during winter and my skin was SO DRY. I got static shock every time I touched a door handle. After that, I slathered myself in a thick body butter daily haha.
Oh wow that’s awesome it’s summer 24/7! And yep- it’s much milder here in Georgia than it is in Virginia where I used to live so when I visit it’s always a lot chillier and I have to increase the moisturizing lol.
You have great skin! Staying hydrated and moisturizing is so important these dry, winter months.
Thank you, you do too! I’m so glad I listened to my mom and started taking care of it early on lol.
These are such great tips! I moisturize double the amount of times in the winter as I do the rest of the year, it’s so important!
Thanks Adriana! Moisturizing is key in the winter months.
I love Wet n Wild! I need to pick up some because I could use some extra glow! P.S. You are so pretty!
Me too girl! Thank you so much! 🙂
I just tried that wet n wild MegaGlo Body Luminzer and I love it! I can’t wait to wear it for holiday parties. And yes to moisturizing!

Aw thank you so much Summer! I’ve been wearing it everyday lately to add just a touch of shimmer to my cheeks. The rose gold is a beautiful color for lighter skin tones- I think you’d like it!
I haven’t seen that luminizer before. It gives you a beautiful glow! My hands are the worst in the winter! So dry!
Thank-you! The rose gold is my favorite of the three. It gives the most natural looking glow without being over the top. And I know I definitely have to moisturize my hands in the winter time too.
Wet n Wild makes such high-quality products. I love that they are cruelty=free, too. You look gorgeous!
I’ve always loved their products too. And thank-you!
I love all of these tips! My skin during the winter is either completely normal or dry as ever. I am a huge water drinker which is a major help. As far as moisturizing that is a huge YES!!! I hate having dry skin especially when it comes to applying my makeup. This luminizer looks like the perfect glow without being over the top. That’s a huge plus for me! I will have to give it a try soon!!!
I think you’d like the rose gold one- it adds such a pretty natural looking glow without being over the top. 🙂
OK – I’ll have to try this out. My youth girls are ALLLL about the shine & glimmer on their face & every time I wear it, they notice 🙂
You’d love it! I definitely recommend the Rose Gold one- the perfect natural looking shimmer.
And you have BEST, prettiest skin so super great tips!!
Aw thank you so much- your comments always brighten my day! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Gorgeous! That is a nifty little product to have! I have switched back to my favorite winter moisturizer already and ordered a heavy duty lip one to wear at night too!
Thank-you! I think you’d like this one! It adds a nice natural looking glow/shimmer without looking over the top.
