July Beauty Favorites Kindly Unspoken

Happy Wednesday everyone! We’re over the hump! I’m excited to be sharing some of my latest makeup faves with you today! I had to travel for work this month, which resulted in me hitting up Sephora for some wishlist items. I must say I’ve been very pleased with my purchases, and would love to hear if you all have tried any of these products. Let’s get right into it!

1. Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation– I can’t tell you how long this item has been on my makeup wishlist, but I finally splurged and I’m so glad I did! While I love my Rimmel foundation for everyday wear, I really wanted something that was longer lasting for special occasions and weekend looks, and this foundation comes highly recommended by so many people. And now I see why.

This makeup has such great coverage without making you look like you have a cake face, which is something I personally always seek out in my foundations. I love finding something that helps even out the skin tone and cover up any redness, while also maintaining a natural look, and this foundation totally does that. It also has very buildable coverage so you can go as light as you want or as full coverage as you want.

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz– As I’ve said it many times, a good looking brow can make all the difference on a person’s face. This product is perfect for outlining the brows and filling in any sparseness and the shade blonde was the perfect match for me!

The product glides on very easily and the little brush makes taming brows a breeze. The company recommends you pair it with the dipbrow pomade, but I’ve personally continued using my NYX brow pomade (much cheaper) and it works great! That’s just a little tip if you don’t want to break the bank in buying both Anastasia brow products at once.

3. Benefit Porefessional Primer– I have all you lovely ladies to thank for this purchase, it was highly recommended by many of you when I recently asked about primers, and I’m absolutely loving it! I have dry skin and I was really wanting a primer that a. would help make my foundation last longer, b. wouldn’t add dryness or make my foundation cakey, and c. would give me a flawless looking finish. Can I just say this product does all three of those things?!

The first time I applied it, I couldn’t believe how silky it felt on the skin, and also how easy my foundation glided on right over it. It also really lives up to the name and minimizes pores like a beast. It rocks you guys, so thank you for this one!

4. NYX Gotcha Covered Concealer– Ya’ll are gonna think I’m crazy but even though I was super duper impressed with all my high end makeup purchases this month, this lovely drugstore product which is only $5.99 was my fave! First of all, I’m not sure how long this product has been out but I seriously could kick myself for overlooking it.

The coverage in this concealer is spot on, but the one quality it has that a lot of other concealers lack, is the ability to brighten the under eye area. Infused with coconut oil, the formula glides right on and gives the skin a healthy looking glow! Bye-bye dark circles and redness!

5. Conair Velvet Touch Paddle Brush– My old brush finally broke a few weeks back, but to be honest it was probably time to invest in a new one. I have the thickest hair known to man and most brushes get caught up in the tangles and can be quite painful. Thankfully, I finally stumbled across my new best hair friend, and this is it!

I was initially intrigued because it had the soft, velvet handle, but it boasted a tangle-free brush process so in the cart it went. I’ve now been using it religiously every morning and night and I love it. I swear the bristles make my hair softer! If you have thick hair, I truly recommend trying this brush out.

Are any of these products on your fave list too? Let me know in the comments!

P.S. Be sure and stop by the blog tomorrow for a new monthly collaboration with a great group of gals! 😉

Happy Wednesday!- Cara

  1. I’ve heard so much about the Anastasia brand, but I’ve never gotten into them. I have been in the market for a new brow pencil, though, so this would be the perfect opportunity to start! Thanks for sharing 🙂

  2. Have you tried the Wet Brush? Man alive, that thing is amazing! I’ve heard great things about the primer — I’ll have to try it out!

    1. No I haven’t, but I’ve heard three recommendations for it in my comments, so I may have to check it out! 🙂

    1. I don’t have a Sephora or an Ulta nearby (probably a good thing 😉 ) so that’s why I put it off for so long, but I love it!

  3. I love the Benefit Pore-fessional! I don’t buy it much, because of how pricey it is, but when I use it I love it! 🙂

    1. I’ve heard that the Maybelline pore eraser is a dupe for it, but haven’t tested it out yet. If it does, I’ll let you know because it’s only $6!

    1. Yes, I think that will be my next big purchase! I’m loving that so many companies are coming back out with stick foundations! I used to love those!

  4. The NYX version of the brow pencil is an awesome dupe too! I love the ABH pomade but it IS expensive. Im DEFINITELY gonna have to try out that concealer, I’m always on the hunt for a good concealer. Does it crease up at all?

    1. That’s what someone else said, now I’ll have to give it a try! I’m all about the dupes! And I always set my concealer with translucent powder, so I haven’t noticed any creasing at all. It actually feels really hydrating on the skin too with the coconut oil! 🙂

    1. A little of this goes a long way too. I literally just use a couple tiny drops and it covers the whole face!

  5. You’re the second person I “know” and trust to review that concealer. I always enjoy reading reviews on Sephora or whatever site I’m on online, but knowing someone who’s enjoyed it is always better. I have a coupon at Sephora and definitely am trying it out! Great picks, that primer sounds up my alley too 🙂

    1. I’m extremely picky about concealers too, so I don’t normally talk about it on this blog unless I absolutely love it! This one works amazing and I love the brightening qualities! 🙂

  6. I use that same foundation love it! Long lasting and the coverage is great and totally buildable. And the brow wiz, use that too, so great! Currently on my wish list is the Kylie Jenner Matte lipstick, I need it!

    1. Oh, that’s awesome! It works great at brightening and covering up dark circles if that is an issue. (The struggle is real over here! haha)

  7. I’ve been wanting to try that foundation out for a long time. I’ve heard it’s amazing. Hopefully soon I can give it a try. I’m super picky about foundations. Also love ABH products! I’ve also heard great things about the primer. My wish list for make up is always getting longer. Lol.

    1. Lol mine too girl! I’ve already added the Makeup Forever stick foundation to my list just from going through the comments haha!

  8. So I have never done anything with my brows aside from waxing or plucking. Tell me more about this brow stuff you have listed. You should share a tutorial!

  9. I received the POREfessional in a monthly beauty box, and it’s got to be my FAVORITE beauty product thus far.

    These are all great!

    1. It’s worth the full purchase I think! They always put them on sale around the holidays so keep an eye out! 🙂

    1. Awesome! I just happened to notice it on the shelf, swatched it in the store, and was like woah this brightens so well! 🙂

  10. Benefit’s Porefessional is one of my favorite beauty products. I love it! I may have to splurge on the Make Up Forever HD Foundation because i’ve got some outdoor events coming up soon and this sounds like it would be perfect for keeping my make up on!

I’m a huge fan of NYX products, too but the gotcha covered concealer is something I’ve over looked, too! I’ll be on the look out for that now!

    1. It photographs beautifully too! A lot of makeup artists use it for weddings/special occasions because it films so well! 🙂

  11. I’ve had the same brush since 2012. It’s a wet hair brush, and sometimes I use a roundbrush when I blow dry.
Maybe it’s time for a new one.

    1. Yes, definitely worth it. A little drop seriously goes such a long way too, so I think it will last for awhile! 🙂

    1. So glad to hear that! You look like you have pretty thick hair too! It’s so nice once you find a good brush 🙂

  12. I was a fan of the benefit’s pore sample I got and would consider purchasing the full size. I am totally going to have to track down that concealer. I need concealer bad these days! You have the opposite problem as me….I have the thinnest hair known to man.

    1. Around the holidays they have it on sale, so it might be one worth waiting a few months for! I always need concealer too, so don’t feel bad. It doesn’t matter how much I sleep, drink water etc. I still have under eye circles (thanks dad for the genetics lol)

  13. Love!!!! Porefessional is a staple in my bag! And I love the smell! I really want to try that concealer! Do you have a wet brush? My hair is incredibly sick too and it is a miracle brush! It’s all I use wet or dry now !

  14. I”m hoping to get to try that MakeUp OFrever foundation soon – I’ve heard so many good things about it! Great picks!

    1. They are great, and I think my next big splurge might be the stick foundation one. Thank-you! 🙂

  15. I need a good eyebrow liner. The one I’m currently using is too big. I need a thinner one. I’m going to give this one a try I think but I’ll need a soft brown instead of blonde 😉 Such a great list Cara. I love reading your blog it’s always so well put together.

    1. Aw thanks Melanie! I love having you as a reader of my blog, and love following yours as well! 🙂

  16. I have a similar hairbrush and I’m obsessed with it! Will need a new one soon, as this one is starting to give in, but it’s the best type of hairbrush I’ve ever had! Great picks! 😉
