March Confessions

It's Wednesday

It’s that time again! Here are my monthly confessions for March.

Beauty/Fashion Confessions:

  • I have an addiction to shopping- especially shopping for shoes and accessories. Also, if it’s on clearance, 9 times out of 10 it’s coming home with me. My husband is always giving me those looks like “Are you really getting ALL of those?” and I’m all like “Yeah-it’s on sale, and I should probably just go ahead and stock up.” Stocking up for what, I have no clue. I’m pretty sure I won’t be wearing high heels or flip-flops if the zombie apocalypse ever hits, so I probably need to start shopping for more boots. 😉  Haha admitting you have a problem is the first step, right?
  • I will shop anywhere for clothes, and I’m not one of those people who is all like “Oh, I would never shop there!” I actually find it a little irritating when people are like I never shop at Wal-mart or stores like that. I mean I know those aren’t the fanciest stores on earth, but seriously don’t look down on others because they do. I’ve found a many a cute clothes from a lot of those types of stores and I always get compliments on those pieces. It’s not about the price-tag, but rather how you present yourself. I promise.

Blogger Confessions

  • Spammers are seriously ridiculous! I’m so thankful I have a good spam blocker in place, but when I go into my spam comment box and all I see is tons of “watch cat videos now” and “tap on this link to see unicorns jump”, I can’t help but wonder why they think I would ever tap on the link and/or go to their website. I mean jumping unicorns? Really?!
  • I’m a little envious of travel bloggers who get entire exotic vacations paid for. I mean how awesome is that? #teachmeyourwaysplease!

Random Confessions

  • I can’t poach an egg and I’ve come to terms that it’s just probably not ever going to happen. I’ve read/watched tutorials, followed the instructions to the tee, and still fail miserably every time. Oh well, I like my eggs scrambled anyways-haha
  • I cannot do a pull-up. I’ve tried and tried since I was 16 years old in high school and all I was ever able to do on my PT tests were hang on the bar for the allotted time. I can do pushups like crazy, bench press, do squats and dead-lifts for days, but pull-ups are a no-go. Props to all you amazing women out there who can, though! Maybe one day! 😉

Pet Peeve of the Week:

It really irritates me when someone on Facebook selects “Hide Post” or “Hide All Posts” on my page instead of just simply un-liking my page, which makes a ton more sense. Besides that, whoever it is that hides my posts always does it on the most random posts ever, like a cute photo of my kids or an inspirational quote or something- strange right? Okay, end rant now.

  1. I love shopping at Walmart and Target. I’m all about cute-for-cheap 😉

And just a thought on the “hide post”. It may be that whoever is doing that doesn’t want to affect your numbers by unfollowing, but doesn’t like everything you post. I have no idea if that is their reasoning, but if that’s the case, the could just be trying to avoid unfollowing you? (Ps- I didn’t do it! lol. I was just trying to think of why someone might).

    1. Well now I know who’s been doing it! 😉 haha joking. Yes you definitely could be right and that is their thinking on it, but I personally would rather have someone just unfollow me than hide my posts if they are truly not interested. No harm, no foul.

    1. Thank-you! I swear it’s always on the most random stuff, like a cute puppy or something. I get hiding political or controversial things but I don’t ever post stuff like that so I really don’t understand it.

  2. Yes the weekend is coming! I can’t poach an egg either but that’s okay because I only like them scrambled or boiled. I love your mix of confessions. My guess on the hide you page thing might be a result of “follow for follow threads” which is basically the same thing as doing it to get people to like your page then unfollowing… super rude. The only time I unfollow people is friends who post too much political stuff or offensive stuff but I don’t want the drama of “why did you unfriend me” It’s like I want to be your friend but I don’t want to see 10 Donald Trump memes each time I log on Facebook lol But as far as a page..it’s like just unlike it stop messing with my engagement numbers lol

    1. Thank-you! I agree with you 100%! On my personal account I will hide posts if they are super political or drama-filled because as you said it’s easier than dealing with the whole convo of “Why did you unfriend me?”, but with business pages if you don’t like someone’s feed unfollow them. It’s that simple.

  3. Buy. All. The. Things. It must be done. But yes, zombie apocalypse calls for boots. Unless the high heels can be used to gouge out eyes?

I totally agree about the unliking a page versus hiding posts/unsubscribing. If you don’t want to support the person’s page, then don’t! Don’t remain a liker out of sympathy or laziness. I’m actually going through my IG and unfollowing people whose accounts I thought I should be following because every other man and his dog are in my industry, but actually don’t really want to be. Feeling lighter and refreshed already having shed almost 300 accounts that I was following, and I’m still going!

    1. Haha good point-high heels could be used as a weapon 😉 and I completely agree if you’re not interested in someone’s feed then unfollow them! It doesn’t take that much effort to click the unlike button.

  4. Um so happy I found your blog! So positive 🙂

My goal for this year is to learn to do a pull-up! Have some faith, maybe we can achieve together ?

    1. Over the past few years I’ve did a lot of strength building workouts so I thought for sure I could do one the last time we were at the park on the monkey bars- haha it was a no go!

  5. These are perfect!! I love it. I can’t do a pull up either and I can do a handstand when doing yoga. I confess I am a huge gamer animal watching dork. (Watching fairy tail as I write this) as I said on instagram I also argue with Jake from the never land pirates. I confess I stock up on Cadbury cream eggs ever easter. And for blogger Confessions I hate spam too. Also when blogs make it hard to comment. I want to comment and hate when I cant. 🙁

    1. Thank-you! Wow, a handstand while doing yoga is hard so that’s amazing! Yes, back when the kiddos used to watch Mickey Mouse clubhouse, I would be answering the questions they asked and then realize the kids were off playing somewhere else and weren’t even in the room anymore-haha & I totally stock up on jelly beans so I can’t blame ya there! 🙂

    1. Yes, it’s under your analytics section- you can click on a post and it will show the engagement such as comments, likes, etc. and then you can also see if anyone has hid the post or clicked “hide all posts”. And me too, I always have my eyes peeled for good deals and cute items no matter where I’m shopping!

  6. Cara, I understand what you meant with shopping at different places. I wouldn’t say, “I would never shop there.” But the only thing I will say is that I notice quality differences. Over the years, I’ve been much more interested in quality over quantity of the pieces I add to my closet. But I do like that you brought this up! Great post as always!

    1. Thanks! That’s a great point Kiara and I do agree, sometimes you definitely get what you pay for. I think if it’s staple pieces it’s worth spending a bit more on such as jeans and suits etc. but if it’s a cami, I can’t really see paying $50 for it when you can get one for $5, but that’s just me 🙂

    1. Only on a business page, not on your personal- but yes it’s under the analytics. and I agree I have certain brands and stores I generally shop at more, but nothing I won’t rule out!

  7. I love these posts! OMG I am the biggest shopaholic which is so awful, I often feel the need to stock up on things that make no sense and I have this terrible habit that if somthing is so cute I refuse to wear it because I’m “saving” it. For what exactly, I haven’t a clue. Hope you’re having a happy week so far my gorgeous friend! XO -Kim

  8. I also do not have a specific store that I only shop at. I am not picky, if there’s a good deal and I like the clothes or shoes, best believe I’m buying it, haha! I wish I can poach an egg too, I’m not giving up though! It seems easy but it’s daniris hard. Also, why do they want dinner every single nigjt..like for real! Lol.

  9. LOL at those memes, especially the mood swing. I hate spammers too, I don’t get a whole lot, but they are random. I hated doing pull up’s in hs, still can’t or won’t even attempt them.

  10. I will shop anywhere too.. I actually have found super cute things at Goodwill before! $4 for a Gap flowy tank top with the tags still on it?? Boom. It’s one of my favorite tops!!!

  11. I love these types of posts! I’m totally with you on the store options. If I think something is cute, I will buy it…anywhere. It’s about what you find, not where you find it. Also, hope the week is going well, and half way to that weekend!

  12. I also have an addiction to shopping. I can’t help it. But I have gotten a little better with not shopping as much. By better I mean slightly. I shop just about anywhere. If it’s cute and fits, I buy it. I hate spammers!!! Ugh. I am like really what is this? Go away! And the amount of times people try to hack into my blog. Why? I am not that exciting. I promise. I have never tried poaching an egg before, so you are not the only one. Lol.

  13. When I was younger, I was insane about brand name clothes. I only shopped at specific stores. So dumb. You can get a cute top for $10 at Target versus a similar top for $75 at Macy’s. That’s a no brainer for me. I’ve never even tried to poach an egg. I’m not very adventurous when it comes to cooking eggs – scrambled is the way to go. Although I LOVE eggs benedict. So I need to learn!

    1. Leslie, I actually embarrassingly enough used to be the same way. I went through the whole abercrombie/hollister/american eagle phase when I was a teen and everything had to be name brand or it wasn’t cool. I grew out of that real fast once I started having to pay for my own clothes-haha But seriously though it is crazy to pay $75 for something when you can get it for $10.

  14. Haha, I can’t do pull ups either..so don’t feel bad. I’ve shopped for clothes about everywhere under the sun- hey, it’s all about looking great without breaking the budget!

    1. Haha every night my kids will ask “What’s for Dinner?” as soon as we get through the door, and I’m always thinking in my head ugh not again! haha And it would be amazing to get a free trip somewhere! 🙂

  15. I’m the same way – I’ll shop anywhere. Cute is cute – no matter where its from.

I have never been able to do a pull up in my life. I have traumatic memories of those tests in PE as a kid doing a chin up – couldnt even do that.

  16. Haha I actually think I can’t do a pull up either! My husband has me trying more and more of the stations at the gym so maybe we should give it a try and see but I think it’s a no!

  17. I loved this post!!! How do you know if someone hides your Facebook posts? I want to check it out! I still can’t poach an egg either; I just have my husband do it or go to my mom’s or gram’s and they’ll do it perfectly : ) I also cannot do a pull up or a “real” push up- my body just wasn’t meant for it. I tone my arms in other ways, but my shoulder and elbows can’t physically do it.

    1. Thank-you! It’s under your analytics section. Click on a recent post and it will show your engagement such as how many comments, likes, shares you received and then it also shows if someone hid your post or clicked “hide all posts”. Hope that helps!

  18. Hahahahahaha that rotate the tires ecard is hilarious!!!! I have a bit of a shopping problem too. However, I strongly believe since we are aware of it….it isn’t really a problem!!! And I will buy clothes from anywhere as well. I have lots of shoes and clothes from Target. One of my favorite necklaces came from Walmart for $5. NO shame in our shopping game!

    1. I showed the ecard to my husband and he said it was definitely me-lol & I definitely agree with you! I guess I’m one of these people that thinks it doesn’t matter if you get something from a yard sale- if it looks cute-who really cares?

  19. I have a shopping addiction too. It’s bad! I’ll also shop every where and those clearance signs get me every single time especially for my toddler! Stopping by from the Blogger Life!
