5 Healthy + Fun Outdoor Family Activities
I don’t know about your family, but as soon as spring arrives our family loves to spend all our time outdoors. From riding bikes to jumping on the trampoline, we love spending our evenings outside having fun together. Not only is it a great way to spend some quality time together but it’s also a fun way to get in an evening workout!
So today I’ve partnered with adidas to share 5 healthy + fun outdoor family activities that you’ll love to do with your family this spring and summer! I’m also sharing our cute + comfy activewear that we’ve been loving wearing outdoors.
5 Healthy + Fun Outdoor Family Activities
Riding Bikes – First up on the list of fun outdoor family activities is of course riding bikes. Not only is riding bikes a ton of fun, but it’s also a great leg workout. Plus you can also make it even more fun by racing each other. Our boys finally learned to ride their bikes minus training wheels and we’ve been absolutely having a blast riding our bikes around our neighborhood.
Jumping On The Trampoline – I mean who can say no to jumping on the trampoline? A. It’s a ton of fun and B. It’s an awesome cardio and leg workout. Unless it’s raining you can almost always find our family bouncing on the trampoline in the evenings.
Walking Around The Neighborhood – If you’re looking for an activity that’s completely free and the perfect de-stressor, take a walk around the neighborhood. When we’re not riding our bikes, we love taking a relaxing walk around the neighborhood. I find this to be a great de-stressor from our day and it’s always fun to just chit-chat along the way.
Game of Choice (Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Football Etc.) – Sports are such a fun way to let off some steam and the possibilities are endless. Our boys are now at the age where they’re starting to get interested in sports and their current game of choice is baseball. We love playing a pretend game in our backyard and even though I’m a horrible pitcher, they still have a blast.
Swimming – Last but certainly not least, swimming is the ultimate fun + healthy outdoor family activity. Most people think of swimming as a leisure activity (which it is) but it’s also an awesome workout! While we don’t yet have our own pool we love taking advantage of my husband’s brother and sister-in-law’s pool each summer and spending time with family.
Comfy Activewear for Outdoor Family Activities
Of course when we’re outside playing we love to be dressed comfortably! The boys love wearing basic tees and shorts, and since we live in the South Georgia heat, I love choosing lightweight tees for them like this gray textured tee that is made with sweat wicking fabric. I also love this fun graphic tee that’s perfect for both school and playtime.
For me, I prefer lightweight running tights and a comfy tee or tank. This coral knotted trefoil tee is the prettiest color and I love the loose fit. Probably my favorite are these running tights, though, as they keep you cool and dry even in the hot Southern heat. Oh and they have a back pocket – perfect for putting your phone in when you’re running! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by! – Cara
We have been taking many daily walks around our neighborhood since the weather has been nicer. I love that Zoe wants to walk and I hope that it sets a good habit that she wants to continue as she gets older!
So sweet! It’s great when you start those habits young because they really do stick with it, I think.
YES to all the outdoor fun! We are a huge swimming family, and also love to ride bikes. Now we need a trampoline <3

Love that! And yes you all definitely do- your sweet girl would have a blast on a trampoline. 🙂
Love the tie tee- that is so cute! Adorable pics of you and the boys 🙂 Bella LOVES being outside, whether it’s playing with the water table, going on walks or playing at the playground. I sure get my energy chasing her, that’s for sure. Love all the ideas!
Thank-you! And I bet it’s so fun being outside with her. I can remember those days all too well- where everything is an adventure! Enjoy every minute girly! 🙂
Love the post. You would never catch me indoors growing up. Can’t wait to see you guys and spend some time doing fun stuff outdoors.
Thanks! We’re excited for summer break!
