Pink Ombre Lip Tutorial
Pink Ombre Lip Tutorial
Good Morning! Hope everyone had an amazing weekend! I was able to tackle some much needed spring cleaning tasks and start in on de-cluttering our home. It’s amazing how much “stuff” a family can accumulate in just a couple of years time.
Today’s DIY Pink Ombre Lip Tutorial is a super fun makeup tutorial, and a current trend that I personally really love. It’s such a fun way to show your personality and you can use either bold shades or neutral shades to create as powerful of an ombre look as you desire.
I’ve noticed a lot of brands including NYX and Wet n’ Wild have even been releasing ombre lip kits, and while I do like the convenience of those products, I wanted to show you that you can still easily create the look using lip products you already have in your makeup collection.
Products Used:
- NYX Matte Lipstick in Shade Aria
- Covergirl Colorlicious Lipstick in 330 Divine
- Hard Candy Fierce Effects Lipstick in Chalkin Pink
- Ecotools Detailed Lip brush
Let’s Get Started!
Step 1: Carefully line the outside of the lips with the darkest shade.
Step 2: Using the medium lipstick shade, carefully apply lip color on the bottom lip into what is considered the start of the “pout” area of the lip. Leave the innermost part of the bottom lip for the final color. Repeat for top lip, leaving only a small area for the next color application.
Step 3: Using lightest lipstick shade, apply color to remaining open area of lips on top and bottom. Very carefully purse lips half-way together, focusing only on blending the lightest color on the lips.
Step 4: Going back in with a lip brush, slowly begin blending the lip colors. Start with the outside of the lip and work the color into the second shade, and repeat with blending second shade into first. Keep in mind you are only lightly blending the shades here to get rid of any harsh lines and you don’t want to go overboard or you’ll lose the three-color effect.

Thank-you! I definitely know what you mean, I’ve seen some bold ones out there with like black, purple, and light pink and that’s a little too far out of my comfort zone-haha

I LOVE this! The ombre lip look is so cool! And I love that pink lipstick on you. I tried bright pink on myself once and I just looked ridiculous. I wish I was able to pull it off!
Thank-you! I bet deeper shades of pink would look beautiful on you or berry shades. You should definitely give it a go, you could pull it off for sure 🙂

Great looking color on you. I tend to go red or little darker.
Thank-you! I love red and dark shades as well 🙂
That’s cool. I guess I didn’t realize people put on lipstick in different ways. haha!
Thanks! Haha I mostly like it because it adds a little dimension to the lips and makes them appear fuller, but it’s not something I wear on a regular basis for sure. 🙂
This is so cool! I’ve been wondering how to do this. And seriously, could you be more gorgeous?! Wowza!
Thank-you! And you are too sweet, girl 🙂

I like the ombre look. However I’m lucky if I can remember to swipe the lipstick on most days. hahaha
Thank-you! Haha I have those days too sometimes. 🙂
Omgosh, that looks wonderful on you! I’m not sure I could pull off that color with my hair color, but I love it on you. You make make-up look so easy and flawless. Love it!
Aw thank-you! I bet you would look great with mauve pink shades with your pretty hair and complexion! You should definitely try it out sometime 🙂
Well if I had your lips I’d wear lipstick every day! Hehehe. I used to wear it as a staple but since staying at home and usually makeup-less, my lipstick passion has diminished. But every time I get a date night with the hubs (rarely!) I bust out my old favs. Love this tutorial and totally trying it!
Aw thank-you! 🙂 You should definitely try this out for your next date night with the hubs!
love this! that color is sooo pretty and flattering on you!
Thank-you! 🙂
Such a pretty look!!! Love pinks on you!
Thanks Nadine! 🙂
You wear that color well!!! I am afraid I could never get away with it!
Thank-you! You definitely could! Try starting out with some neutral shades a couple of shades apart- it helps add dimension to the lips and makes them appear fuller 🙂

Thank-you! Nah, it’s not hard at all, you could definitely do it! 🙂
Super cute and fun!
Thank-you!
I’ve been dying to know how to do this! Saving this for a time when I can play around with different colors.
