September Confessions

september confessions

It’s that time again…these are my monthly confessions for September!

Food Confessions
  • Not gonna lie, the people who tell me they don’t like cake/sweets always make me a little uncomfortable. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about balance, but sometimes you have to treat yourself otherwise, are you really living?
  • I also don’t understand the ones who claim they were so busy they forgot to eat a meal. I plan my whole day around food, so I promise you that person will never be me.
Beauty Confessions
  • I try really hard not to but sometimes when I’m in meetings, I give people makeovers in my mind. I pick out a new hairstyle, outfit, makeup, the whole 9 yards. It’s a blessing and a curse really.
  • I would 100% create Halloween makeup looks everyday if it were acceptable.
Random Confessions
  • While shopping the other day, I totally went up to another vehicle (same make, same model) and couldn’t figure out for the life of me why the button on the side of the door wasn’t unlocking when I tapped it. I also started semi-freaking out when I noticed a huge scratch on the side of the door. I was about five seconds away from calling my husband in panic when my boys pointed to the next row over and said, “Mom, isn’t that our car over there?”
  • I completely blanked the other day when someone asked me how old I was. Fortunately I don’t think they expected an actual answer, but I couldn’t even muster up a response if I wanted to. It was like “Um, well I know I’m older than 21…and I think I had my 25th birthday..” lol. In case you’re wondering I’m 26, and it only took me about 2 minutes to remember. 😉
Pet Peeve of the Week

People who fail to signal irk me to no end. It’s like really, you’re that lazy that you can’t switch on the signal that’s right next to where your hand is anyways? If I could write them a ticket on the spot, I totally would. #copwifeprobs

  1. I “blanked out” the other day. I was leaving a voicemail message at work. Despite saying our company’s phone number at least a dozen times every work day, I just drew a blank as to what it was. I hung up and then called back and left another message, pretending that our phone system was “giving us trouble”. I also hate when people don’t use their turn signals. Or when they STOP and THEN turn the signal on.

  2. My pet peeves are also about driving. We have a new sign on the main road by my house that talks about not hogging two lanes. People think they can just ride down the middle because at the end of the road they merge together. SMH

  3. I am in love with all those Memes! I totally agree with you on the people that “forgot to eat” like how?! I will be eating breakfast and already wondering where my next meal will come from haha

  4. Couldn’t agree with you more about people who don’t signal! It’s not hard! Awesome post as always, Cara!

  5. Can I co-sign your food confessions? I will never understand how people forget to eat because I start to get hangry and not feel well. And the people who always skip the cake at the office birthday or any event in general always make me snicker. One slice or a few bites aren’t going to kill ya! Enjoy it, life is too short.

  6. So funny! I feel the same way about meals and treats. I plan my day around yummy meals and seriously don’t get it when people say they don’t like sweets. I just assume they’ve never had good ones so they don’t know what they are missing out on 🙂 I love your meeting makeover strategy! I’m sure that helps meetings to fly by and wouldn’t that make a great reality show?!?! Crashing meetings and giving makeovers – I’d watch that!

    1. I try really hard not to, but sometimes you just can’t help it. Lol I work with a lot of “professionals” who could easily have been nominated for the show what not to wear.

  7. Hey Cara! i hate getting behind people that just don’t know how to drive. You can ask your mommy and especially if they don’t know how to use a turn signal. The other day we saw a vehicle only going 5 miles an hour up the mountain and I told your mommy they are going to get somebody killed. I love eating sweets and by the way the candy you made was great. Your mommy can tell you about stories about getting in the wrong car or mistaking ours for somebody else. Love you

  8. Haha! I totally plan my day around what I’m going to eat too. Skipping meals just doesn’t exist for me. I’ve def walked up to the car in a parking lot thinking it was mine…on more than one occasion. Also…it drives me freakin nuts when people turn without using their blinkers!

    1. Thank-you! And then it’s like how do you politely tell someone you would look amazing if you cut three inches off your hair! haha I have politely suggested colors for people to wear that would look good on them.. 😉

  9. I agree with you on planning my day around food. I only skip a meal if I am feeling sick to my stomach. Other than that…bring on the food. I too hate when people do not use their turn signals. Texas drivers are the worst at not using their turn signals. So you literally have to stay a good bit behind the person in front of you due to that reason. Ugh!

  10. Yes! I have been waiting for this post! With the first 3 confessions, I swore you were describing me! haha! I also agree with the pet peeve! My husband is lazy when it comes to clicking a signal, and it drives me bananas when I ride with him!

  11. Oh my gosh, I totally plan my day around food and I’m not ashamed about it at all. As we’re eating lunch I always ask my husband what he wants for dinner and it drives him crazy hahaha. I blank on my age all the time these days. I genuinely forget how old I am because I stopped counting a long time ago hahaha. Hope you are having a great week! XO -Kim

  12. haha – my husband has done that with our car. I just stood back & watched how long it took for him to realize it wasn’t ours.
I ALWAYS am forgetting how old I am. I have to do math a lot of times.

    1. Lol, that’s funny that you just let him figure it out… I was seriously so embarrassed yet glad no one was around to witness it except my two kiddos. I’m pretty sure they thought I was nuts. 😉

  13. Hi! When you said you have to live a little I totally agree! Life is too short never to treat yourself. I have also done the same thing with my car (your not alone.) The lion with coconut oil was fab. Happy Wednesday. K.

  14. Whenever someone tells me that they don’t like sweets, I’m always like really?? How can you not love cake? I don’t get it at all. Yeah, I never forget to eat and it totally shows. haha Food is always on my brain.

  15. I don’t believe anyone who says they don’t like cake either. Or the ones that scratch off the frosting in disgust, because they are the ones that eat only the frosting at home.
I can’t stand it when someone doesn’t signal, why is it so hard to show me where you are headed?
Love the pics below, especially the “Decisions have been made”!
    Very fun post! Thank you

  16. I’m one of those people who can forget to eat. It makes me THE WORST to be with because people don’t understand or worse yet feel like it’s intentional! I took my staff to a conference two weeks and had to tell them to remind me to feed them!

  17. I don’t trust people that say they don’t like sweets either! It is one thing to be avoiding them because you are trying to lose weight or some health reason….but to flat out say you never crave them or want them? Yeah, no. Not buying it. And I have totally walked up to the wrong car before!!! To the point of trying to put the key in the door wondering why my remote wasn’t working either. hahaha. It happens!
