Summer Essentials To Beat The Heat
Happy Friday, friends! Summer is in full swing here in Georgia and it’s been a HOT and humid one so far! I know a lot of you also live in pretty hot climates, so today I’ve partnered up with Babbleboxx to share a few of my favorite summer essentials to beat the heat. From hot weather skincare must-haves, shine enhancing hair products, thirst quenching sweet tea, and the cutest pair of sunglasses, you don’t want to miss these summer essentials!
Summer Essentials To Beat The Heat
Summer Skincare Must-Haves
First up on this list of summer essentials is skincare must-haves. During the Summer it’s really important to switch up your skincare routine to make sure you’re cleansing and moisturizing properly.
One skincare item you definitely want for the hot summer months is a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer. I just started using the Sheer Renewal Cream from Colleen Rothschild and not only is it very lightweight, but it offers 24 hour hydration and has broad environmental defense. It also contains the ingredient Multifruit® BSC which promotes new cell turnover to help minimize fine lines and wrinkles. I’m a huge fan of multi-purpose products and so far I’ve been loving adding this product to my summertime skincare routine.
Second up on the list is a good cleansing balm. I was so excited to try out the best-selling, cult favorite Radiant Cleansing Balm from Colleen Rothschild and ya’ll – it’s SO good! This cleansing balm cleans deep in the pores to remove all impurities and makeup, while also providing hydration and restoration. It’s so hard to find a good deep cleanser that doesn’t dry out the skin, but so far I’ve been amazed at how soft and luminous it makes my skin look and feel.
Another skincare summer essential is a toner. I’ve talked about the importance of toners several times on the blog, but basically they work to balance out your skin by removing toxins and impurities. After cleansing my skin in the morning and at night I’ve been using this Matcha Tea Treatment Toner and I’ve really been noticing a difference in my t-zone. This toner has matcha tea, kombucha black tea, and Japanese green tea that work to detoxify, protect, minimize the look of pores, and absorb excess oil.

Last but not least, the most important skincare must have during the summer months is of course sunscreen! I recently was introduced to the Ozeaderma Anti-aging Antioxidant Sunscreen with SPF 35 Broad Spectrum and so far I’ve really liked it! Like all the sunscreens I use, this is a mineral, natural sunscreen, free of harmful chemicals, perfumes, and dyes. Ozeaderma products are also environmentally friendly and cruelty free, giving them a huge plus in my book!

Shine Enhancing Haircare
As much as I love Summer, constant exposure to heat and the sun can wreak havoc on your hair, especially if it’s color treated. That’s why switching out your hair products in the summer months is super important to ensure your locks are getting extra TLC from all the heat.
Two products I recently discovered (and LOVE) is the Hask White Wine Shine Enhancing Shampoo & Conditioner. I’ve been a long time fan of Hask haircare products (especially their masks) and I’m happy to report these products are perfect for keeping hair looking shiny and hydrated in the summer months.
Both the shampoo and conditioner have nourishing wine extracts and powerful antioxidants that help protect the hair, tame frizz, hydrate and strengthen, and add shine to your hair. They also smell ah-mazing with a blend of lemon, pear, apple, and watermelon!
Best of all, Hask is an affordable brand and you can shop their new Unwined by Hask collection at Ulta or Walmart.
Drinks To Stay Hydrated
Of course staying hydrated in the hot Summer heat is a must and while I mostly drink water, I do like to occasionally indulge in a sweet drink. My husband and I recently tried Straight Up Tea, and if you’re a tea drinker you will love these! They come in 3 flavors including Sorta Sweet, Sweet, and Unsweet. I really like the fact that they’re all natural with no artificial ingredients, and my husband really enjoyed the Sweet one.
Cute Sunnies
Last but certainly not least on this list of summer essentials is a cute pair of sunglasses! You guys know I’m obsessed with sunglasses and I love finding cute and unique styles that let my personality shine through. These Zenni Black Metal Cat-Eye Sunglasses are absolutely adorable and I can’t get over how cute the shape is.
These Zenni sunglasses are very affordable at under $30 but they also have a ton of other cute styles to choose from and even offer customization on lenses, where you can choose from 1 of 7 shades. Another bonus is the mirrored lenses are fingerprint resistant and have anti-reflective coating, perfect for protecting your eyes from the sun.

Thank-you! I think you’d like these- especially the toner. I also tried a sample of her eye serum and now I want to buy the full size. I think I might be becoming a skincare junkie lol.
Oooh I’m interesting in trying that shampoo and conditioner. I’ve been having a really hard time finding something that works for my hair, honestly. Having weighted down hair in the summer is the worst!! Love the sunnies. I’ve been looking for a new pari. That’s a great price point!
I love the Hask brand and these products are really nice! They’re honestly better than a lot of high end shampoos/conditioners I’ve tried and such an affordable price point! And yes, you should definitely check Zenni out- love all their sunglasses and a lot of people like their prescription glasses too. 🙂
I have been wanting to check out Colleen Rothschild products for awhile now, they sound fabulous!
Yes! The toner and moisturizer were my favorites!
Oh my goodness, that matcha toner sounds so nice. What a cool product. I was recently using a face wash that was drying my skin out SO bad, hasn’t happened to me before, but WOW. I haven’t tried any Zenni sunglasses, just the bluelight glasses and they are great!
I’ve been loving it! Same here- for a long time I was using too harsh of a cleanser on my face and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why my skin was so dry when I was moisturizing it really well. It’s amazing sometimes what a simple switch in your routine can do. And that’s awesome that you love the Zenni bluelight glasses- I need to get me a pair of those since I’m on the computer a lot. Thanks for commenting! 🙂
