August Confessions
Happy Wednesday, ya’ll! Life has been a little cray-cray lately, and I haven’t had a lot of free time. Between finishing up work projects before my last day (this Friday), prepping the house for selling, buying a house in Georgia, and trying to enjoy the last little bit before my 2 kiddos start school next week, it’s been chaotic for sure.
Nevertheless this too shall pass, and I’m just trying to take it one day and step at a time. Saying goodbye to a lot of great friends and colleagues at work makes this week a little sad, but I’m excited for all the good things ahead.
Anyways, it’s been a super long time since I’ve did a confessions post and I always love sharing random tid-bits with you all! So here goes.. *cue the Usher music*
August Confessions
- I think I might literally be the only fashion blogger who did not partake in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Not that there wasn’t cute stuff by any means, but I just wasn’t feeling it this year.
- I was, however, feeling all of the recently released eyeshadow palettes and scooped up the Jaclyn Hill Morphe Palette (currently sold out) and the Lorac Mega Pro Palette (just restocked). I told my husband it was Christmas in July. 😉 Anyone wanna see reviews/makeup looks created with these?
- I watched Parenthood for the first time ever the other day and I’m seriously hooked now. I have a feeling I’ll be binge watching very soon.
- I find it so strange that my dog is obsessed with ice and acts like it’s candy anytime it falls out of our ice maker. Does anyone else’s dog do this?
- I’m so sad that my youngest is starting kindergarten and my oldest is starting 2nd grade next week. I keep asking myself where the time went and keep trying to figure out how they’re not still babies.
- My husband turned on the seat warmer in the car the other day to play a trick on me and it took me probably 2-3 minutes before I figured out it was him instead of just the heat from the sun on our leather seats. Needless to say I’m currently accepting ideas as to how I can prank him back! lol
- Although I’m sad to leave behind so many great co-workers, I’m looking forward to not having to wake up early next Monday morning for the first time in 4 years. 🙂

Some many great things going on!! I just discovered Jaclyn Hill, I can’t stop watching her videos. Would love to hear how her palette is. A friend of mine have been trying to get that for months but it is always sold out.
I literally had it in my cart within a minute of it going live the last time and it still took me 16 minutes to check out, because of the popularity and the site being bogged down. As long as you can get it in your cart though, you’re good! 🙂
Love this post, girl! Parenthood will give you all the feels and you’ll find yourself binging it and watching it over and over. My dog is also obsessed with ice. Our lab loves it and now our older dog is starting to like ice because his “little” brother likes it. I’d love to see looks with Jaclyn’s palette. I’m still not sold on if I should get it and I totally suck at eye makeup, so I love seeing others’ looks. Good luck with everything. XOXO

I haven’t watched Parenthood, but I watch This Is Us. I’ve heard that if you like one, you’ll like the other. Jealous you got the Jaclyn Smith Morphe Palette!!

My mom has liked riding to the hospital to see my dad in my brothers car because he had seat heaters for her back pain – so when she rode in mine yesterday, I told her my black leather had been in the sun for 4 hours – its the same thing 😉 haha

I didn’t take part in the Nordstrom sale either… it’s overdone, like gift guides haha. Plus, their sale prices really aren’t that great. LOVE that I wasn’t the only fashion blogger who didn’t partake!

Parenthood is the BEST show EVER! You definitely need to watch it. I am thinking about watching it AGAIN..it’s that good!

I love how realistic it is! It’s so accurate to how parenting/life really is.
SAME with the NSale. I actually found the whole thing a little annoying this year. I know this is how a lot of bloggers make an income, but some took it too far. I don’t mind posts on things on your wishlist or items in your cart. But seriously 20 different posts with “picks” for every single category, especially ones you’ll never even buy is a little much.

Exactly! I have no issue with people creating posts listing items they’ll ACTUALLY buy, but don’t be recommending a $500 purse that you’d never even dream of buying lol.

Yep, we’re moving Labor Day weekend. The kids will actually start up here in VA and go for about 3 weeks and then they’ll transfer to GA, since the schools down there have already started. I’m hoping the transition will be easy for them. And that palette is so beautiful! The pigmentation is awesome. 🙂
Both of our dogs love ice cubes! Our older one eats it, but our younger one freaks out like it’s a brand new toy every time. She then proceeds to let it melt somewhere where I’ll later step in it in my sock feet. Whaddya gonna do? I start watching some new drama every time my husband goes away for work. Parenthood was one and he needs to go away again so that I can keep watching it.

My dogs like ice too. Some dogs can’t take it, it sends them into shock. Not mine! LOL
I’m so glad to know it’s not just my dog lol. It’s so funny every time I’m getting water/ice from the fridge he comes over and wags his tail ready for me to “accidentally” drop one.

I love that it’s so realistic. So many shows are overly dramatized or aren’t accurate representations of real life, and this one seems very much on point. I’m really enjoying it so far!

Haha, I’ll definitely enjoy it for sure! Unless my internal clock wakes me up. I’m pretty much used to rising early, so I might not get to sleep in like I had planned.
