DIY Christmas Mason Jar Lid Scrabble Ornaments

Happy Wednesday lovelies! Today I’m so excited to share a tutorial for some of the cutest Christmas ornaments ever – Mason Jar Lid Scrabble Ornaments.

If you read my 20 Christmas Traditions to Start this Year post, you’ll know that one of the yearly traditions I’ve started with my family is creating a new Christmas ornament every year. I’ve really been loving all the scrabble tile crafts and mason jar lid crafts floating around the internet, so that’s what inspired these super cute and easy scrabble ornaments.

Christmas Scrabble Ornaments Supplies Needed:

First, you’ll want to tie an ornament loop on your canning lid so you can hang your ornament on the tree. I did this by double knotting a piece of yarn on the lid, then leaving a large enough space to hang, I double knotted the top part and cut off any excess.

Next, using the flat piece of the lid, hot glue the fabric on, overlapping as necessary. Don’t worry about it looking perfect at this point, it will end up perfect once placed inside the rim.

Next carefully line the inner rim of the lid with glue and place the fabric piece inside, pressing down firmly. Be careful on this step, the metal can get a bit warm. Once it is secure, it’s time to hot glue on your letters!

All in all, I ended up creating three different scrabble ornaments, including “Joy”, “Love”, and then for the third one I did mine and my husband’s initials. I used the blank tile in the batch and simply added on a heart with a black sharpie.
