Essentials For A Relaxing Spa Day At Home
There’s nothing quite like a relaxing day at the spa to clear your head, reduce stress and tension, and make you feel renewed. But if going to an actual spa is out of your current budget, then why not bring the spa to you?
As a beauty lover and a firm believer in treating yourself, I’m super excited to be sharing this fun post with you today on how to have a relaxing spa day at home. I’m sharing my absolute favorite essentials for a relaxing spa day at home and how you can create the perfect spa day oasis in your very own bathroom.
Essentials For a Relaxing Spa Day At Home
Set The Mood
Just as you would do at an actual spa, the first step in getting into full-on relaxation mode is to cut out all the distractions. Start by turning off your phone and letting anyone else in the house know what you’ll be doing, in order to avoid any unwanted interruptions. Ideally, it’s best to have a spa day when you’re home alone, but if that’s not doable aim for after the kids go to sleep or when the husband is preoccupied.
Next, dim the lights, light some candles, and turn on some soothing music in the background. I love this affordable pack of 120 tea lights for placing around the tub, and it definitely adds the perfect ambiance.
Low light, aromatherapy, and light music will not only help relax the mind, but it will also help release any tension in your body, so you can get the absolute most of your spa day.
Gather Up The Spa Day Essentials
After you’ve set the mood, it’s time to gather up all the essentials for the perfect spa day. In lieu of your everyday bath products, an at-home spa day calls for something a little more special like bath bombs, bubble bath, and nourishing soaps. Most recently, I started using these amazing smelling bath bombs from Princess Molly Bath and Beauty, and needless to say I’m 100% hooked.
In case you’ve never heard of them, Princess Molly Bath and Beauty is a newly opened online bath shop out of the Atlanta Georgia area specializing in handmade bath bombs, sugar scrubs, truffle bars, and other nourishing bath products. I really love and connect with their mission of encouraging women to take time for themselves and let’s be honest- all women deserve to get some princess pampering in every once in awhile!
You can check out all their incredible bath bombs over here, and they even offer bath sets that would make the perfect gift! Georgia Peach is my current favorite, but they seriously all smell so wonderful. If you see something you love, be sure and use my exclusive discount code: KIND upon checkout to save an extra 15% off your order!
Lastly, grab some towels and washcloths, a soft robe like this hotel spa plush robe, and some comfy slippers for putting on after your bath. Oh and don’t forget some loofahs and scrubbing tools for exfoliating.

Take a Hot, Relaxing Bath
Of course what’s a spa day without a relaxing bath? One of the items I love most about our current home is my huge bathtub and I love filling it up with hot water, tossing in my favorite bath bomb, and letting the stress of my day float away.
While relaxing in the tub, it’s the perfect opportunity to mask it up with both a face mask and hair mask. Depending on the time of year, I use either this hydrating sheet mask or this milk peel to reduce redness. I also love using this nourishing hair mask to give my tresses some extra TLC, and the milk and honey in it smells incredible!

Exfoliate The Skin + Hydrate
In addition to using facial and hair masks, I also really love to exfoliate the skin during my at-home spa day. This pink grapefruit scrub is amazing for using on the legs and arms, and I always love how smooth my skin feels after using it. After exfoliating, I shave my legs and immediately follow up with this wet skin moisturizer to really hydrate my skin.
Give Yourself a Massage & Mani/Pedi Treatment
Once bath time is over, it’s time to treat yourself to a massage and manicure/pedicure. Start by putting on an amazingly soft robe and slippers and head to your bed where you can lie down and get the most out of your massage.
I’ve been using this self-massager for over a year now and absolutely love it for easing out kinks in my neck and shoulders, and it even works on the legs and feet. I’m always amazed at how much tension I have built up and it’s so nice to treat yourself to a massage every now and then to work out unwanted stress.
Last but not least, no spa day is complete without a mani/pedi treatment and I’m a huge fan of this at-home gel manicure kit. It comes with all the supplies you need and will last you at least 10 applications, making it a great buy! If you already have a kit but are looking for great nail colors, this Sally Hansen set with pinks and reds is so beautiful and versatile for year round.
So there you have it! I hope you enjoyed today’s post where I shared all the essentials for a relaxing spa day at home, and that you’ll treat yourself to an at-home spa day very soon!

This sounds just amazing. When we move (in about a month!!) I’ll finally have a bathtub! I cannot wait to use a bath bomb for the very first time. A spa day will definitely be happening!

The grapefruit scrub sounds amazing!!
It smells amazing and really does a great job of exfoliating. 🙂
Oh, this looks so incredibly relaxing! Having a warm bath used to be one of my favourite ways to unwind, but where I live right now we have a tiny bath and a freezing bathroom with a permanently open window so that’s gone out the window, but the moment we get a place with a better bathroom situation, you can bet I’ll be treating myself to a luxurious spa day ?
Oh yes– hope you’re able to soon! 🙂
I’m so overdo to treat myself and unwind, and my garden tub is calling my name. And so are those bath bombs! <3
