6 Tips for Healthy Glowing Skin

Happy Monday, lovelies! When it comes to skincare, I think we all want healthy glowing skin, which is why today I’m sharing my best beauty secrets on how to get beautiful, glowing skin at home. I’m also sharing my favorite products for brightening, moisturizing, and enhancing the skin’s natural beauty, and ways to achieve a gorgeous glow.

Eat Better Foods

This first skincare tip is nothing new, but the phrase “You are what you eat” holds so much truth when it comes to the health of your skin. Eating colorful, fresh fruits and veggies, lean proteins, and foods full of vitamin C will help enhance and brighten the skin’s overall complexion.

Getting beautiful, glowing skin at home is easier than you think! Today I'm sharing 6 tips for healthy glowing skin and my favorite products for brightening, moisturizing, and enhancing the skin's natural beauty and glow.

Speaking of vitamin C, in addition to getting a daily dose of OJ you can also apply vitamin C topically for enhanced benefits. I’ve quickly become a huge fan of Physicians Formula’s new Vitamin C Brightening Oil Stick with SPF 30.

This convenient stick helps to instantly revitalize and hydrate the skin, and even helps protect the skin from sun and environmental damage. In addition to brightening with vitamin C, this facial stick also contains kakadu plum and orange & sunflower oils with anti-aging benefits.

Simply swipe on the face and neck area prior to applying foundation for all day hydration and protection. I’m obsessed with how amazing this product smells and I’ve loved how it really does brighten up my skin’s complexion and helps add a nice glow to the skin.

Protect Your Skin from the Sun

No matter the age or skin tone, the best thing you can do for your skin is to protect it by wearing sunscreen. Sun damage not only weakens the elasticity of the skin, but it also noticeably ages the skin’s overall texture.

To prevent damage, it is best to wear a minimum of SPF 15 for everyday exposure and for days where you will be in the sun for extended periods, you should wear SPF 30 or more.

I personally love wearing The Healthy Foundation from Physicians Formula, which protects my skin with SPF 20 and offers beautiful coverage. I’m also a huge fan of wearing hats in the summer months for even more protection for my face.

Replenish the Skin’s Moisture with Serums

Eating healthy, drinking lots of water, and wearing sunscreen are all great ways to keep your skin looking its best. But at the end of the day, the skin still needs extra hydration, which is why investing in a good moisturizer is so important.

Believe it or not, one of the best products you can apply to your face daily for added moisture is a hydrating serum. I’ve already talked about my obsession with their Rose` All Day Serum over here, but Physicians Formula new 24-Karat Gold Collagen Serum is an elasticity-restoring serum that you’ll definitely want in your skincare collection.

Getting beautiful, glowing skin at home is easier than you think! Today I'm sharing 6 tips for healthy glowing skin and my favorite products for brightening, moisturizing, and enhancing the skin's natural beauty and glow.

Not only does this serum moisturize and brighten the skin but vegan collagen and natural polymers help restore elasticity, lift, and plump the skin’s entire look. Serums like this normally cost an arm and a leg, but you can get this one for only $12.97 at Walmart, which seriously can’t be beat. I’m totally obsessed with the 24 Karat gold flecks in this serum and it instantly adds a glow!

Exfoliate to Remove Dead Skin

Just as moisturizing is important, so is exfoliating the skin. Absolutely no makeup product out there is going to look good on the skin, if it isn’t healthy to begin with.

If you’ve noticed your makeup looks flaky or ashy even after moisturizing, then it’s time to add exfoliating to your beauty routine. Not only does exfoliation remove dead skin cells, but it also helps even out skin tone to reveal a brighter complexion.

I personally love using this skin cleansing brush and this charcoal detox cleansing stick for giving my skin a good detox. Depending on your skin type, it is best to exfoliate daily or every other day.

Give Yourself a Weekly Facial At Home

I’m a huge fan of pampering your skin on a regular basis, which is why I wholeheartedly recommend doing weekly facials at home.

I personally love using sheet masks to boost my skin’s natural glow and love the way it makes my skin look and feel. As mentioned in this post, sheet masks are a great way to add extra nutrients to the skin and are an inexpensive alternative to getting facials done at a spa or dermatologist office.

Don’t Forget The Lips

Just as the face needs to be moisturized and exfoliated regularly, so do the lips. I’m actually pretty old school when it comes to exfoliating and I personally use a toothbrush to remove any dead skin if my lips get chapped.

Exfoliating really helps with that too. Any time my skin is looking a little dull I know it’s time to exfoliate more.

Great advice! I’m big on eating well and hydrating. I don’t do quite so well when it comes to sun block, though I try. I love the idea of skin care products with the SPF built into them. It’s one less thing to think about!

Love all of these tips! Moisturizer and sunscreen are my go-tos for looking hydrated and firmed up! I also love a good sheet mask. One important thing for me lately is eye cream. My smile lines are getting deeper the closer I get to 30, so proper moisturizing and vitamins are a must for my eyes.

SO many new products to try! I’m sometimes hesitant to try serums and what not because my skin is so sensitive. My biggest tip for healthy skin is to drink loads of water – it has made such a difference for me this last year!
