Lorac Mega Pro 4 Palette - Review + Swatches

Happy Wednesday! I’m currently still recovering from the worst stomach flu in history that struck our household on Sunday. Thankfully the boys are both starting to feel better and fingers crossed that the hubs doesn’t get it. Anyways, today I wanted to share with you my thoughts on the gorgeous Lorac Mega Pro 4 Palette that I received as a gift from my awesome sister-in-law for Christmas.

If you’ve been following me for awhile you’ll know that Lorac is my absolute favorite eyeshadow brand and I currently own 4 other palettes by them including the Lorac Pro, Lorac Pro 2, Lorac Mega Pro and Lorac Mega Pro 3.

Although I normally buy mostly drugstore for everything else in my beauty collection, when it comes to eyeshadow palettes, I believe it’s worth paying more for quality. To me you can’t beat the quality, color selection, and pigmentation found in Lorac palettes, and I’m almost always using them when creating my eyeshadow looks. (By the way, this is not sponsored, I’m just really passionate about Lorac eyeshadow!) 😉

Lorac Mega Pro 4 Palette Review

The Lorac Mega Pro 4 Palette includes 32 gorgeous shades with a range of light and dark shades in both matte and shimmer finishes. As always, the packaging is absolutely stunning, featuring a light pink base with gold and silver foil lettering.

On the inside you also will always find a large mirror which is super helpful when applying makeup. Of course the eyeshadows themselves are absolutely beautiful in this palette and you can see that there’s a huge range of color selection in this one.

Lorac Mega Pro 4 Palette - Review + Swatches I almost want to say the one side reminds me of springtime with shades like Flamingo, Lt. Sage, and Moss, while the other side reminds me of fall with Mocha, Spice, and Copper Pearl.

Onto the individual shadows, I was impressed with how pigmented the matte shades showed up. Although I always do 3 swipes when swatching, some of them I only had to do once, which is great. I constantly use light matte shades for my eyeshadow base so I was pleasantly surprised with this!

I will also mention that Lorac eyeshadows have a soft, velvet texture to them which makes them very easy to apply to the lid. That being said, a little product goes a long way and I do recommend wearing a primer or eyeshadow base when using them.

For me the shades “Unicorn” and “Honey” were the knockouts in this first bunch-  They’re so pretty!

Out of the next bunch, I really love the shades “Fairy tale” and “Misty Mauve”. I’m thinking those shades would be beautiful for a Valentine’s eye makeup look!

So many gorgeous eyeshadows in the next group that would be perfect for using to create sultry smoky eyes! “Silver Fox” has quickly become a favorite of mine lately.

The last group includes a fun mix of bold colors and dark shadows and I’m thinking that “Denim” and “Peacock” would make such a gorgeous look together!

All in all, I’m super impressed with the colors in this palette and I truly believe Lorac did an amazing job in including such a mix of shade choices. If you’re a fan of wearing different colors, then you’ll definitely love this palette.

There’s so many fun shades and I personally feel the Lorac Mega Pro 4 palette is most suited for those who do like to play around with different colors/shades vs. those who are just starting out with makeup and looking for basic shades.

If you’re a makeup beginner looking for a great basic palette, I would steer you towards the original Lorac Pro. That was my first “big girl” eyeshadow palette, and I can’t say enough good things about it!

  1. LOVE the color palette! I’m not the best at makeup and for that reason, I like to keep a pretty natural and simple makeup during the day. These colors are just perfect because they’re pretty and subtle. I actually have the LORAC contouring palette too.

    Thanks for sharing!

  2. Those sparkle shadows all look gorgeous!! I love how rich the colors are, too. That’s my only complain about what I’m using right now – it’s hard to get them to show up!! I’ll have to look into this when I’m ready to purchase something new!

    1. That’s the one thing about Lorac eyeshadows- their color pigmentation is unbeatable! It’s so beautiful and I never have issues with products not showing up as vibrant as they look in the palette. 🙂

    1. It really is. I think this is probably the most versatile range of shades Lorac has ever released. Everything from lights and pastels to dark bold shadows. They’re super pretty as always!

  3. I’ll be honest, when I first saw this palette, I wasn’t immediately drawn to it. The colors didn’t really stand out to me! But, seeing them swatched in groups on your post has me all heart-eyes now! Lorac shadows are amazing!

    1. I was the same way and that’s why I didn’t purchase it when it came out (I received as a gift) but I’m in love with them now. The shades are so pretty and I think if you like having a range of colors to choose from then this one is a perfect choice. You can’t go wrong with Lorac 😉

  4. This is a very pretty palette and I’m glad that you are loving it. Its super colorful so probably half the shade I wouldn’t use. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! You make me want to use my Lorac 2 that I still have.

    1. It’s very pretty! I totally recommend it if you’re into playing around with colors- if not I might recommend one of the original Lorac palettes with more neutral shadows. Either way the quality is ah-mazing! 🙂

  5. This palette looks like a must have because it has such a great variety of shadows. I feel like this is one of those palettes you could stick in your bag or take with you when you travel and not need much else! I love all the soft colors.

  6. The stomach flu is on a rampage this year! I feel like every time I turn around someone said it’s hit their house. I was the last man standing in our house until Monday when it hit me, and today is the first day I feel somewhat human again yet still shaky and weak. Those bugs are the WORST! Hoping your husband is spared! But on to much brighter and prettier things – this palette! Gorgeous! <3

  7. OMGGG ok can we talk about this packaging? I love the blush pink for this palette! I also agree with the fact that some of these are very spring and others are very fall. Unicorn and Moss were my favorites, tbh they looked like they were edited with how shimmery they looked next to the other ones!

I lovd your review and swatch, the only thing that has me on the fence is the creaminess, I will have to go feel for them myself!

  8. I got the stomach flu on Christmas and it was the WORST! Sorry to hear it hit you guys too! This palette is SO gorgeous- so many fun colors and great shades and pigments! Love it!

    1. Oh no! I told my husband I’d rather have a cold 4 times in a row over having the stomach flu. It literally wipes you out and I’m just now starting to get energy back. & I’m obsessed with all the pretty shimmers in this palette! 🙂

  9. LORAC shadows are some of my fave, too! I used the original pro palette on my wedding day and continue to use it whenever I’m a bridesmaid or have a special event! Those shadows just never fail. Some of the colors in here look so pretty! Hope you’re feeling better, too. 🙂
