Spring 2017 Fashion Trends to Try

*this post contains affiliate links

It hasn’t felt much like winter this week with it being in the mid 60’s to 70’s the last few days. And trust me when I say, I’m not complaining. As much as I love a good snow day, I’m definitely a warm weather girl.

I always get super excited when the spring months arrive, not only for the warmer weather but also for the pretty fashion trends that hit stores. So today I’m sharing with you my favorite trends for Spring 2017!

 Fashion Trends for Spring 2017

Stripes

From bright, bold, and colorful stripes to thin, light colored stripes (think candy striper and sailor stripes), you’ll be seeing stripes everywhere this upcoming season. I personally love the look of striped rompers and casual striped tees paired with cute accessories.

Romantic (Ruffles, Lace, Florals)

As an all-around girly girl, I’d be completely fine if this trend would stick around forever. Ruffles, lace, and beautiful spring florals make my heart happy.

Distressed + Laid Back

If you’re a fan of distressed jeans, then I’m happy to report distressed tops and jackets are now trending as well. Baseball caps are also very in right now and look cute paired with a basic tee, black pants, and sneakers.

Athleisure

For those of you who love to rock sweatpants and hoodies, this trend is for you. Cute sneakers, athletic dresses, and adorable + comfy sweatpants are sweeping the nation right now. Though I’m a firm believer that there’s a time/place for sweatpants, I’m kind of loving this casual and sporty trend.

Nudes

Neutral toned shoes, accessories, and even makeup (think eyes and lips) will be super popular this season. The good news? You can pretty much pair nude pieces with anything, making them  versatile and budget-friendly.

Embroidery

Beautiful embroidered jeans, purses, and jackets will once again steal the hearts of many fashion lovers. This trend takes me back to middle school when everybody had a pair of embroidered flares. I miss my butterfly embroidered jeans, so if anyone stumbles upon a pair, help a friend out! 😉

Cool & Chic Accessories

From gorgeous mirrored sunnies to beautiful layered necklaces and statement earrings, you’ll love all the accessories trending this spring. I’m obsessed with all the stylish mirrored aviators and the adorable statement earrings in bright, pretty colors.

So tell me- what fashion trends are you looking forward to the most this spring season? Any trends in particular you’ll be rocking? Let me know in the comments and be sure and shop the looks above if you see something you love!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Wednesday!- Cara

    1. Maybe try out a top that has florals incorporated on it, instead of an allover print. I bet that’d look cute on you!

  2. I just got my ears pierced a few months ago and I am SO EXCITED for tassel earrings!! Especially cute & affordable ones like these!

    1. I thought so too! It’s funny how all the trends always come back around! Brings back memories of middle school lol.

  3. I have seen a lot of nudes and distressed looks coming out that look pretty cool. For me, it can sometimes be hard to find nudes that work for my skin tone but there are more and more companies making items for darker skin tones.

    1. I think that’s great, Breyona! It’s nice to have different colors to choose from that work for everyone. 🙂

  4. I was so excited to see this because you have the best taste! And I just got those pink Addidas tennis shoes in the mail this week! Can’t wait to wear them.

  5. Love this!! I was initially a little hesitant about the embroidery trend because it brought up memories of myself as a little girl that I couldn’t get past… but i recently picked up an embroidered bomber and I’ve been loving it!

  6. Loving everything in this post, I’ve been looking for a baseball hat, I think I’m going to have to buy that one!

  7. Your style is SO cute, Kara! I love all your picks, and now I’m ready to go spend my entire paycheck on cute spring clothes haha.

  8. I have been ordering some Spring clothes to get ready! I have some earrings just like those except they are pink. Love all your picks!!!

    1. I love how girly everything looks for the spring, but I’m also loving the more casual clothing as well! All around it will be nice to have warmer weather! 🙂

  9. Loving all the different types of embroidery I am seeing out and about in the stores. Just think it makes anything more interesting.

  10. I love so many of these trends! Especially stripes, distressed, and athleisure! I just purchased some spring-ish clothing today. My office is very laid back so I am able to wear leggings and cardigans etc. I tried getting things I can wear to work and outside of work. Question– do you use polyvore for your collage above? Also, how do you add that shopping bar in your posts?

    1. My office is pretty laid back too because we’re more of an administrative office so we don’t see a lot of the general public, so it’s nice to be able to wear casual clothing. And I use picmonkey to create all my collages and blog photos. I’m also a shop style collective affiliate, so that’s the network I use for my links and shopping bars. If you have any specific questions, feel free to shoot me an e-mail- happy to help! 🙂

  11. Ahhhhhhhh my favorite Adidas shoes ever in pink?!?! Shut up! So cute. I am glad to see lots of the blush pink again because it is my favorite. I have always been a fan of stripes and I am glad to see some more laid back looks. It makes being comfy fashionable and I can appreciate that 🙂

    1. Aren’t they so cute?! I’m super pumped about the more casual vibes out there right now! As much as I love dressing up, it’s nice to be able to wear leggings and a distressed tee and it be semi-fashionable lol!

    1. Me too! So many classic pieces and I like that more of a casual dress is sweeping the nation now! Yes to leggings, distressed tees, and baseball caps! 😉

  12. I’m so excited athleisure is becoming a thing… especially because that’s how I dress 99% of the time anyways 😉 haha

  13. The stripes, romance, and nudes are my favorite of the mentioned! Each are so versatile and fun to wear.

    1. Agreed, Erin! Like you, I’m more mindful of putting pieces in my wardrobe these days that are versatile. 🙂

  14. I’m so excited for all things spring and the fun trends that come with it! I’ve always been a big stripe fan and I am loving all of the lace, ruffles, and florals – which is a big change for me. So many great finds you have here! Beautifully Candid

  15. Loving all these trends! Can’t wait for spring and summer…though in FL it’s pretty much that time already!

  16. I am all about lace, ruffles and florals! Also athleisure, but not so much the distressed look. I already wear leggings all the time so I feel like I would look a mess! haha

  17. I have a love-hate relationship with distressed clothing. My Dad saw me wearing distressed jeans last week and told me he wanted to take me shopping for proper clothes haha. I then showed him a distressed shirt at the store and he couldn’t stop complaining about it lol. He said he could just cut up an old tshirt for me.

  18. Stripes and romantic florals are my GO-to for spring. I think I just need an off the shoulder pretty top to complete it.

    1. I think both of those are pretty timeless too! Like stripes and florals are pretty much always in style! 🙂

  19. I love the ruffles and athelisure and of course the fun accessories. I’ve already scooped up some of the Sugarfix line- it’s so fun!

  20. I love that athleisure is still going strong! Gives me an excuse to rock leggings and grown up sweats with no shame. Also, I may need those pink adidas – so cute!

  21. I love the tassel earrings! I have not bought a pair for myself yet but I can definitely see it happening in the near future!

    1. I love all of those! I’m thinking a trip to Target this weekend to check out some earrings is a must lol.
