5 Ways to Simplify Your Morning Beauty Routine

Mornings are always a rush in my household, as I’m sure most of you can relate to. Although I’d love to have a full hour to leisurely get ready while sipping hot cocoa and trying out the latest Pinterest makeup trend, that’s unfortunately not an option.

So today I’m sharing 5 simple ways to simplify your morning beauty routine, that help prevent rushing and reduce unnecessary stress.

5 Ways to Simplify Your Morning Beauty Routine

Pick Out Your Outfit the Night Before

While dressing according to your mood may work for some, it can easily add an extra 15 minutes of indecisiveness to the morning routine. I try to always pick out my clothes, shoes, and accessories the night before, and will sometimes even try it on to make sure I love it.

Doing this ensures, time isn’t wasted trying on 4 shirts before picking out the “right” one. I always hang my clothes on the front of my closet, and make sure to cool iron out any wrinkles the night before if needed. I recently started using this steamer, and ya’ll I’m OBSESSED! If you dislike ironing, I totally recommend picking it up, and it’s super affordable.

Keep Your Skincare Products At Your Sink

Time is 100% precious in the mornings, so in order to avoid an unnecessary 5 minute search for skincare items, keep your moisturizer, cleanser, and other skincare products right at your sink for easy access.

This product is my absolute favorite cleanser to use in the mornings and it smells so good! I also like to follow up with this moisturizer that is super lightweight and oil-free.

Create a “Daily Routine” Makeup Bag

Although we all have extensive makeup collections, there’s certain products that we continually use on a day to day basis. In order to avoid spending five minutes trying to find items amidst all the shuffle, I’ve dedicated a specific makeup bag for my daily routine.

This saves so much time in the long run and helps keep me more organized when getting ready. I can simply reach for what I need, put it on, and go. I’ve included a few of my favorites below- aren’t they adorable?!

Use Double-Duty Products

More products=more time spent getting ready. Instead of adding yet another product to the routine, I like using products which offer multiple uses, such as tinted moisturizers.

I’ve mentioned it before, but one of my favorite daily foundations is the 9-in-1 Skin Perfecting BB Cream by Rimmel. Not only does it have great coverage, but it also contains SPF 25 sunscreen, which helps protect my fair skin. I’ve also really been loving the Pixi Multi-Balm Sticks which can be used on both the lips and the cheeks.

Style Hair Before Bed or Overnight

Styling hair can be a tedious process that takes time. In order to minimize time spent on styling it in the mornings, it make sense to do the majority of styling right before bed. If I’m going for a straight look, I’ll run my hair through the straightener and make sure it’s completely dry so it’ll maintain the look. I’ve been using this straightener for years and I love that you only have to run it over the strands once to straighten, and it’s non-damaging.

If I’m going for a curly look I’ll use my beachwaver pro (the absolute best curling iron!) and spray it with an extra hold hairspray like Garnier Anti Humidity Hairspray. Another option I like to use is throwing my hair up in a messy bun after taking a shower, and sleeping on it overnight for a voluminous, wavy look. The next morning, if I need to add touch-ups to any area of the hair, it only takes 2-3 minutes, compared to 10-15.

So there you have it! By using these tips I’ve been able to significantly reduce time spent getting ready in the mornings, which in turn puts me in a much better mood and mindset to tackle what I need to for the day.

I hope you enjoyed this post on 5 Ways to Simplify Your Morning Beauty Routine! What other tips would you add to this list, and what are some things you do to simplify your morning beauty routine?

it takes me less than 10 minutes to get ready from when i wake up so i don’t really need a get-ready morning routine…it takes me 2 minutes to pick out what i’m going to wear since i never dress up for work and it’s always jeans and a tshirt. makeup takes me 1 minute and hair? pony tail. every day, it’s in a pony tail. not giving a sh*t about what you look like certainly speeds things up! 😀

I do this every single night! Well…I don’t pick out my outfit, since I wear scrubs haha, but I do lay the ones I am going to wear. And since I shower at night, I also style my hair and in the morning it’s so much easier to just run my straightener in a couple of times or just touch up some of the curls.
