15 Easy Apple Desserts (Apple Recipes for Fall)
If you’re here because you’re currently asking yourself “What Can I Make With A Bunch of Apples?”, then you’ve came to the right place! Apples are probably my favorite fruit ingredient to cook with (especially in the fall months) because they add so much delicious flavor and complexity to a dish and you can switch up the flavors depending on the type of apple you use.
Which apples work best for baking?
Before diving into today’s post I wanted to talk a little bit about which apples are the best to use when making apple desserts. Below, I’ve included some of my favorite choices for these easy apple desserts and thankfully they’re all really easy to find during the fall season. (Even better, if you own some apple trees!)
- Granny Smith – My #1 choice for apple desserts is the delicious granny smith apple. The tart flavor is the perfect balancer in sweet desserts and the shape holds up very well when baked. I also love the bright green color that is just so pretty!
- Honeycrisp – Widely available with a crisp, juicy texture, and a sweet flavor that has a slight hint of honey to it. Delicious to eat fresh and they bake up wonderfully.
- Braeburn – A slightly sweet version of a granny smith apple with a beautiful red, pink, yellow, and green outside that make for beautiful presentation.
- Jonagold or Golden Delicious – When you want a sweet apple for a dish, I definitely recommend Jonagold or Golden Delicious apples. They’re crisp, juicy, sweet, and hold up their shape nicely when baked.
