21 Beauty Blogger’s Drugstore Makeup Must Haves
For today’s post, I asked each beauty blogger to choose one drugstore makeup must have that they can’t live without in their makeup collection and to share why they’d recommend their drugstore makeup pick to others.
Let’s dive right into each of their drugstore makeup must haves below, including a couple of my own!
Best Drugstore Makeup- Foundation
My favorite drugstore makeup product would have to be the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation! I’ve tried a ton of foundation over the years (both drugstore and high end) and find myself always going back to the Pro-Matte. It has amazing coverage and doesn’t look cakey at all. It also controls my oil better than any other foundation I’ve tried. I can put it on at 7 a.m. and by 7 p.m. it still looks awesome! – Tanya, Leopard Lace and Cheesecake
If I had to choose only one drugstore makeup product I can’t live without it would be the Maybelline SuperStay Full Coverage Foundation. This is a new favorite, and it is SO good! It reminds me of the Laura Mercier flawless fusion foundation. It’s full coverage, blends seamlessly, and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. It’s a great foundation! – Elly, Uptown With Elly Brown
L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup is my favorite drugstore makeup foundation! It provides medium/buildable coverage with a beautifully natural/radiant finish and works on my skin whether I’m oily or more normal/dry. It also is very easy to blend and looks nearly undetectable. There’s a reason this product has been on the market for so long – plus, with over 30 shades, you’re bound to find a match at an affordable price! – Steffanie, Brighter Darling
Best Drugstore Makeup- Concealer
Maybelline FaceStudio Master Concealer – this concealer has been my holy grail concealer since I first started to use it. It’s lightweight but you can differently get a very good coverage with it over foundation or alone. It’s one of my favorite drugstore makeup must haves and I even use it on my clients. – Jasmine, Jasmine Maria Blog
Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer I like it better than most of the prestige brands I’ve tried. It’s the one that blends best with my skintone and looks the most natural. I also like that it doesn’t get flaky and that the applicator tip blends really well. – Daisy, Sand Sun and Messy Buns
Best Drugstore Makeup- Blush/Bronzer/Highlighter
Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer! This tropical-scented goodness is a staple in my makeup collection. Not only do I use it to warm up my complexion, I use it for a quick eyeshadow look in the crease. It’s one of the best drugstore makeup products you can buy! – Meg, Meg O on the Go
For years now, Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso has been raved about on multiple Youtube channels and beauty blogs, but it wasn’t until last year that I decided to pick it up for myself. Since adding it to my makeup bag, it’s become one of my daily go-to products. It’s a warm peachy-coral toned with a soft gold shimmer throughout it, and gives the perfect peachy flush to your cheeks while also adding a radiant glow. This blush has also been known as an excellent dupe for the NARS Orgasm blush so if you’re a huge fan of that one, then be sure to try the Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso. I’m sure you’ll love this drugstore makeup product, and you’ll save some $$$! – Bree, The Urban Umbrella
Physicians Formula Plum Rose Butter Blush is the one cruelty-free drugstore makeup product that I can’t live without! It’s a beautiful shade for fair skin like mine. I use it to sculpt my cheeks as a contouring blush. It also works as a contour shade too. – Courtney, Phyrra.net
I love the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer because it instantly gives me a healthy look – as if I just came from the beach. It looks so natural and it smells like Pina Colada. It’s like a vacation in a little jar! – Sissi, Beauty4free2u.com
I’m “all about that glow” so naturally one of my absolute favorite drugstore makeup products is the Wet n’ Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder. As mentioned in my 10 Best Affordable Drugstore Highlighters post, this highlighter has a light, velvety texture and glides right on the cheekbones to give you the most beautiful glow. Don’t waste your money on expensive highlighter palettes when you can score these drugstore makeup must haves at less than 5 bucks! – Cara, Kindly Unspoken
Best Drugstore Makeup- Mascara
One of my all-time favorite drugstore makeup products is hands down the L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara! It’s under $10 and is actually the perfect dupe to high-end products such as the Too Faced Better than Sex mascara – which is more than double the price! Don’t waste your money on the high-end stuff, this mascara is phenomenal! – Jill, Kentucky Makeup
I think I’ve tried every mascara known to man, from luxury brands at $35 to drugstore options and I always come back to Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. The magic is in the wand–one side is a comb to eliminate clumping and the other side is curved to capture every little lash. For less than $10 I get long, fluffy lashes with no clumps every time! – Cindy, Prime Beauty Blog
I’d recommend L’Oreal Waterproof Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara. I can’t STAND waterproof mascara ever but this one is AMAZING. It does everything I need it to do – lift, curl, volume…. and it LASTS ALL DAY. Everyone that I’ve recommended it to has come back and said they love it! – Brooke, Blushing Noir
It’s a hard choice, but I would have to go with L’Oreal’s Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a mascara that lengthens and really defines your lashes. I’ve tried so many mascaras and always end up back with this one! – Lily, Beauty with Lily
For me, this is a no-brainer. I can’t live without my trusty cult classic L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Mascara. Not only is it a dupe for Armani Eyes to Kill Mascara the brush is awesome and helps give you the most perfect fullest lashes ever! Added bonus- its a great mascara to layer with as well. – Jamie, Makeup Life and Love
Best Drugstore Makeup- Eyeshadow/Primers/Eyeliners
I would suggest the Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoos. They are creamy, easy to apply, and provide long lasting color. Plus, they are half the price of higher end options, and so pigmented! You have to really tighten the lids to prevent it from drying out, but at less than $7 they are easy to replace. – Julie, Collective Beauty
The one drugstore makeup product I can’t live without is the e.l.f. Shadow Lock Eyelid Primer. It’s $2, but it really works just as well as some prestige eyeshadow primers It helps shadow last all day without fading or falling into the creases. My theory is… why spend more when you don’t have to? – Miranda, Slashed Beauty
NYX Matte Liquid Liner. I love to have a matte winged out liner every day, but using a gel pot can be time consuming and most pen liquid liners leave a glossy finish. But not the NYX Matte Liquid Liner! It’s easy to use, so pigmented, and dries to a matte finish! Seriously can’t sing it’s praises loud enough — it is so good and I the minute I felt my tube getting low, I purchased a backup. – Katie, From My Vanity
Best Drugstore Makeup- Lipstick
I would choose NYX butter glosses!!! They are SO gorgeous, creamy and smell amazing. They make incredible lip toppers over liquid lipsticks or tube lipsticks, are great by themselves and come in a million colors. My favorites are Angel Food Cake and Creme Brûlée! – Taylor, Blonde and Ambitious Blog
As a lipstick lover, I had to share what I consider to be THE BEST drugstore lipstick out there – Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipsticks. I’ve been using these lipsticks for years and they’re definitely my ride or die lipsticks. They come in the prettiest colors and the creamy matte finish is the perfect consistency when you want a gorgeous lipstick that lasts all day, but doesn’t dry out the lips. I always get tons of compliments when wearing these lipsticks and there’s so many fun shades! – Cara, Kindly Unspoken
Best Drugstore Makeup- Removers
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes– As a business owner and mom on-the-go time is precious. It’s still so important though to remove your makeup and properly clean your face every day. My drugstore makeup must have is definitely Neutrogena’s Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes. They enable me to quickly clean and hydrate my skin. I also travel a lot so it’s wonderful to just be able to throw them in my carryon bag! – Tori, The Storibook.com

Couldn’t agree more on the Maybelline creamy matte lipsticks! The formula on those is awesome. I love Touch of Spice and Daringly Nude for something easy to maintain while I am at work.
Agreed! I’ll have to check those shades out- they sound awesome!
Hey there! Great post with many awesome recommendations! I was just wondering, in the above photo, what brand/type of brush is that with the pink handle? It looks like the perfect bronzer or blush brush, and I have been on the hunt for that type of brush. Thank you so much!
Hey Jessica! That is the Tapered Highlighting Brush from Luxie! It’s great for applying highlighter or even powder under the eyes. They also have a great blush brush you might like. I use it for applying blush, bronzer, and sometimes even my highlighter, so it’s a great multi-purpose tool. Hope that helps! 🙂
I have been wanting to try that Loreal foundation. I just suck at matching drugstore brands to my skin for whatever reason. I love that butter bronzer, NYX lip stuff and age rewind!
You should definitely give it a try- the formula is really nice! Also- a lot of the stores now will let you exchange it if it doesn’t match. I know Rite Aid and Ulta will for sure.
1. Thanks for featuring my favorite product!
2. I am loving all these picks from these beauty bloggers. I love seeing what other girls love.
I loved having you participate! And me too- it’s really cool to see what products everyone uses.
These are all great picks!! I love my butter bronzer, milani baked blush and lash paradise mascara!! Definitely must-haves!
I love all three of those and use them all the time!
I’m using the Lash Paradise mascara line now and I love it!
It’s SO good! Definitely lengthens and adds volume at the same time.
I refuse to pay for expensive make up unless it’s something I wear on a daily basis. I own so many of the NYX lip glosses – they are my favorite!
I’m the same way. Unless it’s something I can’t find better at the drugstore, 9 times out of 10 it’s drugstore lol.
I’m loving all these affordable find ESPECIALLY the Milani baked blush. I have it in the shade Rose d’Oro and it’s one I always have to have. I never give it the chance to run out LOL. I also like that purple lipstick. I have something similar from Illamasqua and I must say that although the color is super pretty, the price is a bit much! Yours is a lot more affordable. Might have to check it out 🙂
Milani baked blushes are absolutely stunning! I love the pigmentation and how they have that little touch of shimmer in them- so pretty!
Drugstore make up is up my alley – I just cant pay a lot of money for a product that doesnt really make me look 18 😉 h aha
I need to pin this for future Target visits!
Agreed! So many high end products make all these crazy claims and I’m not about to break the bank for something that doesn’t work. lol
looove NYX butter gloss! and those matte lipsticks!
Yass! The NYX butter glosses are so pretty and I love that they smell good too.
I LOVE posts like this as drugstore make-up is all I buy! I currently swear by a Loreal foundation, although the actual name has slipped my mind ? I also need to try more NYX products. I can always use another shade of lippy!
I’m the same way- with the exception of eyeshadow palettes and a few foundations, I mostly use drugstore makeup too. Why spend more when they work great?! 😉
I have tried a few of these but I totally need to check out some of the others that I hadn’t tried yet.
There’s so many great makeup products on this list to try! 🙂
