No more wasting money on high end makeup products that don’t work! These luxury, high end makeup items are worth the splurge and are recommended by 20 top beauty bloggers and makeup gurus.
Best High End Makeup Worth The Splurge
Hey lovelies! Today’s post has been a long time coming and one that has been highly requested. I’m constantly being asked questions like “Which high end makeup items do you recommend?” and “What high end makeup products are worth the splurge?”, so today I’ve teamed up with 19 of my favorite beauty bloggers and makeup gurus to share what we consider to be the best high end makeup worth the splurge.
Although I’m a drugstore makeup junkie, there are definitely certain makeup items that I recommend splurging a little more on. Although many high end makeup items are pricier than what you might spend at the drugstore, often times the quality and staying power is better, and the product will end up lasting you in your makeup collection longer.
A good rule of thumb when deciding whether or not a high end makeup item is worth splurging on, is to really look at how often you’ll use it. This can often justify the higher cost and make more sense in the long run if you will be getting a lot of use out of it. In case you’re curious on what high end makeup items made the list, keep reading my Best High End Makeup Roundup below!

Best High End Makeup Worth The Splurge
Best High End Makeup – Foundations
I have so many high end makeup splurges but I think my number 1 product is Clinique ‘Even Better’ Foundation. It is my ride or die and hasn’t let me down sine 2001!
Every time I use it I get the same result (no matter what season) and my skin always looks so healthy. I get a ton of compliments and questions on my makeup routine every time I use it! It is great for everyday use because it has SPF in it and it isn’t heavy but it also slays for full glam moments!
Also, if you are looking to up your foundation routine make sure to grab Tarte’s ‘The Buffer’ Airbrush Finish Foundation Brush for a flawless application. That combo is my secret beauty weapon! – Kara, Kara Larkin Lifestyle
Investing in a great high end makeup foundation is so worth it. Too Faced Born This Way Foundation is worth every penny. I’ve never seen anyone not look flawless in it and I recommend it to brides a lot for the perfect wedding day makeup look! – Jill, Kentucky Makeup Junkie
I recently had a baby and my skin totally changed. I’m craving all the (natural looking) glow lately! If you’re a mom or someone with limited time to get ready, you NEED the Hourglass Vanish Stick Foundation in your life ASAP.
So quick and EVERY TIME I wear it I get compliments on my actual *skin*… NOT just the foundation. Pair this with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Luminous Light as a finishing powder all over, and your skin will look fresh and healthy all day long. – Steff, Brighter, Darling
Best High End Makeup – Concealer & Correctors
Concealer is a product I consistently spend more money on. My absolute favorite high end makeup product is the Too Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer. It is very pigmented and full coverage, and the finish is very natural yet stays put!
If you have tried to love Tarte Shape Tape but find it too drying underneath your eyes, give this one a try! It packs the same punch but with a more natural finish! – Meg, Meg O on the Go
The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is worth every penny! It’s creamy, hydrating, blends effortlessly, and it covers dark circles.
With a little setting powder, this baby lasts 12+ hours without creeping into fine lines. It’s a must-have for those with dry skin! – Julie, Collective Beauty
My favorite, can’t live without high-end makeup product has to be the Tarte CC Undereye Corrector. I have terrible dark circles and have tried MANY undereye correctors and this is the only one that has done the job!
If you struggle with the same problem, I can’t recommend this enough! – Lily, Beauty with Lily

Best High End Makeup – Primer & Skincare
I’d recommend Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer. Even with my oily skin it makes my makeup look beautiful and doesn’t accentuate oil or allow product to slide all over my face.
It’s pricey for a primer but it’s also skincare. Luckily it also comes in a smaller size that’s less expensive and perfect for trying it out (though you’ll absolutely want the full size). – Brooke, Blushing Noir
I recently took the plunge and splurged on the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter. I’m so glad I did because since then, it’s been the one product that I use daily. Online it’s described as a complexion booster since you can use it as a primer, mixed into your foundation, or simply as a highlighter.
My personal favorite way to use it is just as a highlighter. Its smooth and creamy texture blends out beautifully over foundation or natural skin. The highlight can be either blinding or natural, depending on how much you apply.
This product is pricy, but now that I have it I don’t think I’ll ever go without it again! – Bree, The Urban Umbrella
Best High End Makeup – Powder
There are some pretty decent drugstore setting powders out there but Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder does it best!
It sets my makeup without any creasing or caking and my skin feels velvety soft. It’s definitely my go-to setting powder for flawless finish! – Tanya, Leopard Lace and Cheesecake
No flashbacks and of course it makes your skin looks flawless without looking powdery. I definitely recommend this if you’re oily. I have combination skin so the areas that I get oily stay matte all day. – Jasmine, Jasmine Maria Blog

Best High End Makeup – Eyeshadow Palettes
I love Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadow Palettes. Particularly, Modern Renaissance and Sultry! They are SO worth the splurge because they have a creamy, blend-able formula that lasts a long time, doesn’t crease, and is SO beautifully pigmented without being overwhelming.
The colors are timeless and would work for anyone! – Taylor, Blonde and Ambitious Blog
I’ve been using Lorac Eyeshadow Palettes since I started on my makeup journey and now have 5 of their palettes I love them so much! They are the one high end makeup item I consistently splurge on and the quality simply can’t be beat.
The eyeshadows are so rich and pigmented, blend like a dream, and I love the variety of colors and finishes in each palette. The original Pro Palette and Mega Pro Palette are probably my favorites in the bunch, but you seriously can’t go wrong with any of them.
The Charlotte Tilbury Icon Eyeshadow Palette is so fun and versatile! Like all her products, the Icon Palette has a certain sophistication to it. With her system of Prime, Enhance, and Smoke, both beginners and seasoned beauty junkies can create all kinds of looks! – Cindy, Prime Beauty Blog
Best High End Makeup – Mascara
I absolutely swear by the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara! No other mascara beats this one as it gives me both length and volume. The formula of the mascara as well as the hourglass-shaped wand make this such a fabulous mascara that is absolutely worth it to splurge on! – Sissi, Beauty4free2u
Best High End Makeup – Lipstick
One of my favorite high end makeup brands of all time is Charlotte Tilbury! I have lots of products I love from her line, but if I had to pick my favorites I’d go with the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipliner and Pillow Talk Lipstick.
Pillow Talk is the most flattering nude lip color I’ve ever found! It looks very natural, and the lipstick has the perfect, smooth consistency. You can see them in action on my recent Lily Rose Depp makeup tutorial over here. – Daisy, Sand Sun & Messy Buns
Best High End Makeup – Beauty Tools
My favorite high end splurge isn’t necessarily a makeup product but something that helps with skincare and the application of makeup. The BeautyBio GloPro Microneedling Tool has been life changing for my makeup and skincare routine! – Angela, Hairspray and Highheels
Surratt Beauty Relevée Lash Curler is something I thought was an unnecessary splurge, but after struggling with difficult to curl eye lashes for years, this curler is my best friend!
