Gorgeous DIY Spring Wreath with Felt Flowers

So I know it’s not officially spring until March 20th, but after months of cold and snow, I’m ready to welcome spring flowers and warmer weather. Spring is one of my favorite seasons and I think it’s so beautiful to watch everything re-bloom and to see all of the colors around us be brought back to life.

With that in mind, in today’s tutorial I’m sharing how to create a gorgeous DIY Spring Wreath with Felt Flowers. This beautiful and colorful spring wreath is so easy to create and will definitely make you excited for the gorgeous spring months ahead.

How to Make DIY Spring Wreath with Felt Flowers

To help make things simple for you, I’ve included step-by-step instructions and photos below with all the recommended supplies you’ll need. Let’s Get Started!

Recommended Supplies for DIY Spring Wreath:

Step 1: Begin wrapping wreath with burlap, overlapping as you go to ensure coverage of the white underneath.

Once you have wrapped the burlap all the way around, secure the end with hot glue and cut away any fringe.

Step 2: Using a sharpie marker, begin tracing a large petal shape onto the felt sheets. The petal sizes do not necessarily have to be completely uniform; it all just depends on the size of flower you want to create.

Once finished tracing, carefully cut out each petal and cut two thin strips for the flower center. Using scissors, cut small slits across the strips as can be seen on the dark purple strips below.

Step 3: Tightly roll up the fringe strips to create the flower center and hot glue the end piece to connect.

Step 4: Glue two of the petals together to form almost a slight heart shape and hot glue the flower center piece towards the bottom of the petals.

Repeat gluing process with an additional two petals to form the initial flower shape.

Step 5: Begin gluing additional petals to create completed flower shape. To create small flowers, I recommend adding an additional 5 petals for a total of 9, and to create a larger flower I recommend adding 6-7 petals for a total of 11.

Below is a completed 9 petal flower. I also glued a small lilac circle to the center of the flower for a nice contrast.

This one is a larger flower with 11 petals total.

Step 6: Repeat above process to create additional flowers in other colors for your spring wreath. I ended up creating a total of 6 flowers.

Glue leaf shapes to each flower.

Step 8: Glue floral embellishment to side of wreath. I went with one that had pearls on it, as I felt it gave it such a romantic, girly look for this spring wreath.

Step 9: Glue flowers down the side of the wreath intertwining with pearl embellishment.

Step 10: Cut out 6 small pennants and hot glue to a small piece of yarn. Securely glue across the top of the wreath.

Apply letters with hot glue on each pennant to spell “Spring”. I simply printed out the letters in size 72 font from Microsoft Word onto printer paper and cut to size.
