Physicians Formula Butter Eyeshadow Palette – Review + Swatches
Happy Monday loves! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!
Today I’m excited to be sharing the new Physicians Formula Butter Eyeshadow Palette Review and arm swatches of both palettes.
You might remember I first shared a sneak peek of the physicians formula eyeshadow in my Soft + Romantic Makeup Tutorial earlier this year, and right off the bat I was really impressed.
But as with all the makeup products that I use, I like to use the products for a little bit of time so I can give the most accurate review of them as possible.
So today we’re diving deep into the new Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Eyeshadow Palettes, including pros, cons, swatches of both physicians formula butter eyeshadow palettes, and my overall thoughts on whether or not I think they’re worth purchasing.
Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Eyeshadow Palette Review
Currently the Physicians Formula butter eyeshadow palette comes in two different palettes including Tropical Days and Sultry Nights.
Each of the butter palettes feature 12 shades each in a range of matte, shimmer, and metallic shades.
Physicians Formula Butter Eyeshadow Palette Packaging
The Physicians Formula Butter Palette features a beautiful clear and holographic case with tropical leaves – perfect for spring and summer.
Each butter palette is sectioned off into three quads for easy eyeshadow creations.
Each palette also includes a dual- ended sponge brush applicator.
Physicians Formula Butter Eyeshadow Palette Formula/Performance
Like the rest of Physicians Formula Butter products, the Physicians Formula Butter Eyeshadow Palette features the exclusive butter blend in each of its eyeshadow shades.
This makes for a soft and creamy texture that can be applied wet or dry.
In terms of performance, I found the matte shadows to apply best with a short, stiff brush like this one, and the shimmer and metallic shades are best applied with your finger.
Although a couple of the shades (like the purple and black) were a bit on the drier side, I was impressed with the pigmentation of several of the brown matte shades and found them to be very similar in texture to the butter bronzer (which is my holy-grail!).
I also have to say the shimmer shades were my favorite and they looked beautiful on the eyelid. (Check out my Soft and Romantic Eyeshadow Tutorial here!)
Physicians Formula Butter Eyeshadow Palette – Tropical Days
The first of the two Physicians Formula eyeshadow palettes is Tropical Days.
I would recommend this butter eyeshadow palette to those who tend to gravitate towards using warmer tones in their eyeshadow looks.
With beautiful warm tones and fun pops of color, this butter eyeshadow palette is a great choice for Spring and Summer, and was really fun to play around with.
The matte shades were great for applying all over the eyelid or for blending in the crease as transition shades, while the shimmers and metallics were great for adding some fun color and sparkle to the eyes.

Physicians Formula Butter Palette – Sultry Nights
The second of the two Physicians Formula eyeshadow palettes is Sultry Nights.
This butter eyeshadow palette is overall more of a neutral, cool-toned palette great for using year-round.
I personally loved all of the brown matte shades as well as the beautiful shimmers in this one.
This palette is great for creating smoky eye makeup looks as well as more simple everyday eyeshadow looks.

Physicians Formula Butter Eyeshadow Palette Review – Pros/Cons/Overall Thoughts
Overall, both Physicians Formula eyeshadow palettes are very pretty and include a great range of butter eyeshadow shades and finishes.
And although I think the Physicians Formula Tropical Days Butter Eyeshadow Palette is more for spring/summer, and the Physicians Formula Sultry Nights Butter Eyeshadow Palette is great for year-round, I really can’t pick a favorite because they both have beautiful shades in them that are pretty versatile.
Pros:
The palettes are the perfect size and the packaging is very well made – perfect for traveling.
The Butter Blend formula in many of the matte shades is very similar to the Butter Bronzer and has wonderful velvet-soft, rich pigmentation.
I also love the quad setup in the palettes that makes it easy for makeup beginners to know what shades compliment each other best.
Cons:
There are a few inconsistencies among the formulas.
A few of the darker matte shades are drier, making blending a little difficult, and a couple of the shades are very faint.
I also wish the sponge applicator was a brush instead (personal preference).
Honestly, does anyone still use sponge applicators?!
Overall Thoughts:
At the end of the day I really do like these physicians formula butter eyeshadow palettes and to be Physicians Formula’s first major eyeshadow palette release, I think they did a great job!
If there’s one thing I love about Physicians Formula, it’s that they’re constantly making improvements to their formulas and really listening to their customers so I’m excited to see what’s next from them.
And with their amazing Butter Blend formula, I think they’re a total force to be reckoned with! 😉

I’ve been so curious about these palettes, so as always thanks for your honest feedback! Some of the colors are just so pretty.
Just sayin’,
Karly @ What Karly Said
Of course! They definitely have some fun shades and the butter formula is really nice. I do wish all around it was a little more consistent with the pigmentation though.
I am a fan of their butter line, these palettes look so fun!
I didn’t think I’d like the shimmers because honestly that’s what usually is less-than in drugstore palettes, but these were really pretty and good quality.
these look so pretty for summer!!
I love all the warm tones!
These are so pretty! I love them both, great shades for daytime and summer night looks!
They do have really pretty shades. I’d love to see them come out with some other palettes, because their formula is very similar to higher-end eyeshadow brands.
