Physicians Formula Organic Wear Natural Makeup Review
Happy Monday lovelies! I’m SO excited for today’s post as I’m sharing an exclusive look at the brand new Physicians Formula Organic Wear Natural Makeup Collection.
Physicians Formula has had some absolutely amazing launches this past year including butter lip creams, butter eyeshadow palettes, and their pampering skin treatment collection, but this makeup and skincare line is probably the most anticipated collection of them all.
If you’re a huge fan of PF and want to start using more natural makeup and beauty products in your routine(like myself), then keep reading for all the details on this new makeup line + my top picks in the collection!
Physicians Formula Organic Wear Natural Makeup Review
The Physicians Formula Organic Wear line uses natural, organic, and earth-friendly ingredients and is hypoallergenic, fragrance and paraben free, and cruelty-free. Makeup products in this collection include silk foundation, mineral primer, cream blushes, cream bronzers, dewy highlighters, mascara, brow shaping gel, precision liquid eyeliner, lip balms, and lipstick.
Although not included in today’s post, the Organic Wear line also has beauty and skincare products to include a double cleansing oil, brightening oil elixir, facial spray, lifting & glowing mask, and lip polish treatment.
Here’s just a few things to appreciate and love about this natural makeup collection:
- Made with minimal, organically-farmed ingredients
- Contains high performance, long-lasting formulas
- Eco-friendly, reusable/recyclable packaging
Physicians Formula Organic Wear Natural Makeup Products
Silk Foundation Elixir – I absolutely LOVE this foundation! It’s super light-weight, comes in 12 shades, and has sheer to buildable coverage that is perfect for days you want to keep your foundation on the lighter side. It reminds me a lot of a tinted moisturizer and has a ton of good-for-you ingredients like jojoba oil, coconut oil, aloe vera, and cactus flower to help hydrate the skin with a dewy finish.
If I were to make one minor change- I wish it had a pump bottle as I’m not a huge fan of dropper-style bottles, but I still really love the formula.
Mineral Primer – I don’t always wear a primer, but this mineral primer is really nice. Reminiscent of a sunscreen, it protects, primes, and adds a nice layer of moisture to the skin prior to makeup application. It also helps sooth and hydrate the skin with a blend of aloe vera, cactus flower, and jojoba oil. This primer is perfect for those with dry or sensitive skin like me, as it’s hypoallergenic, and free of fragrance, parabens, and oils.
Dewy Blush Elixir – I’ll be honest- I’ve never been a big fan of liquid blushes but these blushes have already made me change my mind. They are GORGEOUS, highly pigmented, and so easy to apply. Seriously just a little dot of product on a makeup brush is all you need for adding beautiful color to the cheeks.
They also have a slight dewy finish to them which adds a bit of natural highlight to the skin. The shade “pink berry” is my favorite in the bunch with “gorgeous peach” being a close second (and is also what I’m wearing in this post).
Sculpting Bronzer – This bronzer is another great product in the bunch and comes in two shades including Toffee and Mocha. If you’ve never had luck applying cream contour sticks in the past, I’d recommend giving these a try, as the formula makes it super easy to apply and blend, and the color looks very natural and pretty.
Dewy Highlighter – Similar to the bronzers, the dewy highlighters come in a convenient stick form and are a cream-to-powder formula. They currently come in two shades including Dew Frost and Honey Dew.
These highlighters are very nice and creamy and easy to blend on the skin, and they have a really pretty shimmer to them. I will say that the shade Dew Frost shows up very subtle on my light skin tone, but I think it would look gorgeous on medium-dark skin tones. I need to pick up the Honey Dew shade next!
Nourishing Lipstick – My favorite product in the Physicians Formula Organic Wear collection is of course their nourishing lipsticks, which are made with an amazing butter blend formula. Right off the bat, the colors are absolutely stunning and SO pigmented, and I’m a huge fan of the shape and pretty packaging. They seriously look and feel like an expensive lipstick and so far I’m blown away with them.
I will be doing a more in-depth review and swatches of all 6 shades in an upcoming post, so stay tuned for that!
Tinted Lip Treatment – Another favorite of mine were the tinted lip treatments. These are lighter in pigment than the nourishing lipsticks with a beautiful finish and very similar to a chapstick. They also hydrate and condition the lips with shea butter and vitamin E, making these the perfect choice for those who struggle with dry or cracked lips. They currently come in 5 tinted shades and one non-tinted shade.
Fake Out Mascara – Up first and my favorite of all three is their new Fake Out Mascara! The unique formula is infused with an organic lash boosting complex and has natural silk cotton and natural fibers to thicken and separate the lashes for a full look. Unlike regular fiber mascaras, this formula is non-irritating and adds really nice volume to the eyelashes. The brush also does a great job of separating and defining the lashes. Of all 3, this is my top recommendation!
Lash Boosting Mascara– Coming in next on the list is their Lash Boosting Mascara. This mascara contains organic soybean and lash boosting complex to create thicker, fuller lashes. Like the Fake Out Mascara, the brush on this one does a nice job of separating and defining the lashes, while also building up volume.
Natural Origin Mascara – This mascara is specifically designed to help condition and strengthen the lashes with an olive oil extract and would be great for someone who has brittle lashes or damage from extensions. That said, this mascara is best suited for someone who is looking to just add a simple swipe of color to the lashes everyday and not so much for someone looking to add volume and length. This was my least favorite mascara in the bunch.
Brow Shaping Gel – The product that intrigued me the most in this collection was the brow shaping gels. They’re formulated with jojoba oil and offer a flexible hold to condition, sculpt, and set brows in place all day. They’re currently available in 4 shades including Clear, Soft Taupe, Soft Brown, and Soft Black.
I really wanted to like these but sadly they didn’t end up working out for me. The problem is not the formula itself, but rather the applicator. The brush was so small I found it really difficult to use and unless you’re super careful with the colored brow gels, you can end up making a total mess. I do really like the clear brow shaping gel for applying over my filled in brows, but again the brush is a little too small in my opinion.
Precision Liquid Eyeliner– These eyeliners were a TOTAL win in the bunch! I’m pretty picky when it comes to liquid eyeliners and this organic formula is awesome. The fine tip applicator is the perfect size for created easy winged looks and the formula applies even without streaking. It currently comes in 2 shades including black and brown. Highly highly recommend these!
Natural Makeup Look with Physicians Formula Organic Wear Makeup
For this natural makeup look, I kept it simple with using mostly face products, a swipe of mascara, and a tinted lip to just enhance my features and add some color. I’ve listed out which Physicians Formula Organic Wear products I used below, in case you’re curious.
- Mineral Primer
- Silk Foundation Elixir in Fair-to-Light
- Sculpting Bronzer in Toffee
- Dewy Blush Elixir in Gorgeous Peach
- Dewy Highlighter in Dew Frost
- Fake Out Mascara
- Brow Shaping Gel in Taupe
- Tinted Lip Treatment in Ginger Snap
Overall, I’m a huge fan of this collection. I’ve already started incorporating so many of these products into my makeup routine and I really love the fact that they’re made with natural, organic ingredients that are actually good for my skin! I’ve been wanting to dive into using cleaner makeup and beauty products for awhile now and this affordable collection from Physicians Formula is a great place to start.
