Crockpot Honey Sesame Chicken
If you regularly have a craving for delicious Asian cuisine, then you’ll definitely want to give this recipe a try. Not only does this chicken taste amazing, but it’s super simple to make, requiring only a few ingredients and a couple of hours in a crock pot. This is one of those meals that our family likes to eat regularly, and leftovers are never an issue!
We like pairing it with white rice, but you could definitely eat it with fried rice or noodles as well! Top with fresh scallions and sesame seeds for a little extra flavor and crunch, and you have the most perfect asian weeknight meal!
Step 1: Lightly spray bottom of crockpot with non-stick cooking spray.
Step 2: Dice boneless, skinless chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and carefully dice ½ of a small onion. Add both to the crockpot and lightly season with salt and pepper.
Step 3: In a small bowl combine honey, soy sauce, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Whisk together until mixed well.
Step 4: Carefully pour mixture over chicken in crockpot and cook on low for 3-4 hours or on high for 1 ½ hours- 2 ½ hours.
Step 5: Once chicken is fully cooked, remove chicken from crockpot and carefully pour sauce into a sauce pan. Add cornstarch to the sauce and bring to a boil, stirring constantly until sauce thickens. (About 5-10 minutes)
Step 6: Re-combine chicken and sauce and stir well. Serve chicken over white rice and add sesame seeds to taste.
