Healthy Grilled Chicken Breast Recipes
One of my absolute favorite things to cook on the grill is boneless skinless chicken breast, so today I’m sharing two of my favorite healthy grilled chicken breast recipes, made with Italian Barbecue and Lemon Pepper marinade.
Both grilled chicken breast marinades are super flavorful and delicious and I love pairing them with whole grain rice or couscous, and a salad for a healthy, protein-packed meal.
Healthy Grilled Chicken Breast Marinade Recipes
My italian barbecue and lemon pepper grilled chicken breast marinade recipes both taste amazing and are so simple to whip together.
I’ve always preferred marinating chicken myself because it allows me to choose the flavors I’m in the mood for and I can control the ingredients/sodium content.
Although these two grilled chicken marinade recipes are my favorites, the possibilities are completely endless when it comes to flavoring up your grilled chicken!
Barbecue, Italian, Lemon Pepper, Ranch, Chili Lime, Hawaiian, Spicy Garlic, and Taco are just a few of the other grilled chicken breast marinades I love to make and they all taste incredible grilled during the summer months.
This Traeger Smoked Chicken Breast recipe is another delicious option for smoky, tender, and juicy chicken.
Tips for Marinating Grilled Chicken Breast
Marinating chicken breast couldn’t be easier. First add all your wet ingredients in a bowl, add in your dry ingredients, and whip together with a whisk. Trim away any fat off the chicken breast and slice to make uniform pieces for more even cooking. For juicer chicken, I also like to use this tenderizer. Lightly salt and pepper chicken.
Next, grab a large resealable bag, add in the chicken, and pour the marinade in the bag. Seal the bag and give it a good shake to ensure all the ingredients are evenly distributed on the meat.
Refrigerate overnight (preferred) or at least 2 hours to let the flavor of the marinade soak in. Once it’s had time to marinate, simply toss on the grill and enjoy your flavorful grilled chicken breast!
How Long to Grill Chicken Breast
Grilled chicken breast only takes about 10-12 minutes to cook. We have a gas grill and normally cook our chicken breast about 5-6 minutes on each side, turning over halfway.
We also always use this cooking thermometer to check our meat for doneness, and chicken should have an internal temperature of at least 165º F for safe eating. Once it’s fully cooked, allow the chicken to cool/rest for at least 5 minutes before eating.
What to Serve with Grilled Chicken Breast
My healthy grilled chicken breast goes perfect with rice and veggies or can easily be shredded up and ate on top of a salad, in a wrap, or even used for tacos. The possibilities are endless with this tender and juicy grilled chicken breast!

My Favorite Summer Workout Outfit
Alongside eating healthy, staying fit and working out is something that’s very important to me, and I enjoy being outdoors as much as I can- especially since I’m tied to my desk/phone for a lot of hours during the day.
One of my favorite ways to keep active is going for an evening run or long walk around our neighborhood after dinner. I love to put my headphones in with my favorite playlist and really get the stress of my day out. I also love playing outside with our kids and discovering healthy activities the whole family can do together like these 5 Healthy and Fun Family Activities.

Of course, I’m all about being super comfortable when I work out, so I absolutely adore this loose workout tank and these high waisted leggings from adidas.
I just love the pink detailing on the leggings and the tank is so breezy and light-weight for running and working out.
(Sizing details: I went with a size S for the tank because I like it a little looser when I’m running, and an XS in the leggings)
I’m also totally obsessed with my new light purple running sneakers. I had really been on the hunt for a comfortable pair of running shoes and these have an amazing cloud foam support in them that feels amazing!
Plus, I’m in love with the “ice purple” and white colors on these sneakers and think they’re so pretty.

Me too! I’ve been such a fan since like elementary/middle school. And totally, I can’t stand tight workout tops either–especially if I’m running.
