How to Make Oreo Brownie Trifle
Ready to learn how to make my delicious and easy Oreo Brownie Trifle? Let’s dive into the step-by-step recipe below!
I’ve also included all the kitchen tools and ingredients you’ll need, as well as a few helpful tips.
P.S. You can watch the full video tutorial over here!

Cara’s Tips:
- Use a Family Size Brownie Mix – You want to use a 13×9 family size brownie mix for this recipe. Our family loves this fudge one.
- Let the Brownies Cool Before Layering – Make sure you let the brownies cool completely before assembling your brownie trifle. You can even make them a day ahead, if desired.
- Mess-Free Crushed Oreos – Use a large ziplock bag and a rolling pin to crush the Oreo cookies mess-free.
- Refrigerate 2 Hours or More – For best results, refrigerate your brownie trifle for 2 hours or more before serving. Personally, I recommend making it the day before your event so that it has plenty of time to set up.

Easy and Delicious Oreo Brownie Trifle Recipe
1. Prepare and Bake Brownies
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl, first prepare a boxed brownie mix according to package directions with eggs, oil, and water.
Use an electric hand mixer to mix until combined and pour batter into a 9×13 baking pan that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20-23 minutes.
Place pan on a wire cooling rack to cool completely. (Brownies can even be made a day ahead and covered until ready to prepare.)

2. Cut Brownies
Once brownies have cooled, use a knife to cut into 1-inch squares, and set aside while preparing other ingredients.

3. Prepare Pudding Layer
In a large mixing bowl, combine the pudding mix, water, and sweetened condensed milk.
Mix until smooth, then fold in 8 ounces of whipped topping until fully combined and no streaks remain.

4. Crush Oreo Cookies
Place 20 Oreo cookies into a large ziplock bag and use a meat tenderizer or a rolling pin to crush them on a cutting board until crumbled.
If you don’t have either of those, you can simply use your hands to break apart the cookies in the bag, the other method is just quicker.
I like to leave some of the cookies a little larger in size for prettier presentation, but you can crush the cookies however you desire.

4. Layer Dessert in Trifle Bowl
In a trifle bowl begin creating your brownie trifle by layering half of the brownies, half of the pudding mixture, 1/3 of the crumbled Oreo cookies, and 4 ounces of remaining whipped topping.
*Tip* For a prettier presentation, make sure you spread each layer to the edges of the trifle bowl, so that they are more visible.
Repeat the layering process with remaining brownies, pudding, 1/3 of the crushed Oreo, and whipped cream. Garnish the top with the last 1/3 of the crumbled Oreo cookies.

5. Cover + Refrigerate
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate the brownie trifle for at least 2 hours before serving.

7. Serve and Enjoy
Once ready to eat, serve by the spoonful in bowls, and enjoy!
